Even I questioned my own sanity on this but I really admire Travis and I still see nothing wrong with wanting to here him sing some of my favorites songs in the world in a nice clean recording. Random note: Michael Johns, a contestant on AI was wearing an old school BM shirt, the one with the hillbilly holding the shotgun. To follow the random...which episode does he wear it in? I watch Idol all the time and missed it!

It was in last nights episode (3/26) when they were showing the contestants in the recording studio making their iTunes singles.

I don't even know where to begin.First off you're not crazy allthatineed.Yes,Travis & the Band would sound better if some of the old songs were recorded in the studio or somewhere. 2nd,Travis has a way of singing those old Blind Melon songs in concert that couldn't sound better, just my opinion. Those 3 albums don't need to be recreated by our new Blind Melon. They're songs that they wrote together are excellant. Shannon is so Damn good,I don't think they should put out anything except a High quality Live record with some of the old songs on it. The Thought of Brad,Rogers,Glen,Christopher & Travis redoing songs that are perfect already would cheapen everything. It's a Bab idea but I see why people would like to hear more of travis.Just My opinion.

The only exceptions that comes to mind is maybe finishing up some partial ideas or songs that didn't get a quality recording. Some sort of epic tribute. Maybe Im crazy too. If I am spouting blasphemy please strike me down. But, I agree redoing Shannon's completed stuff would not be a good idea at all. With as creative as BM is you know they have a ton of stuff laying around maybe Im being overly optimistic. But, I have a feeling I'm right. The recordings of the live stuff is great and are a basically a nightly tribute to Shannon. As, a musician I know the greatest gift is to have your music live beyond you. And, that is exactly what it is doing. Cementing the legacy every night. Rekindling that fire. Listening to the Omaha show right now and it is amazing. I can hear myself going YYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHH....WHOOOOOOO....YYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHH !!!!! Im waiting to see if I can hear my self screaming like a woman when I get hit in the chest with rogers pick.
