I saw that some people were talking about the upcoming video for Wishing Well and thought we could have a thread for it. What does everyone think they should do for the video?

NO crappy, cheesy, cliche, mainstream productions like those that flood MTV like Nichelback, Avril Lavigne, Hinder, etc. Especially ones that have actors acting out sloppy soap opera themes... a little experimentation would be good, like messing around with the image... SOMETHING NEW & DIFFERENT... that is what i think...

I think a video similar to what Glen and them have posted before would be fitting for their first video for the new album. He should direct it. Every video they post is way more original and in keeping the Melonization that we all know and love...

All videos they did so far are awesome so I'm sure it won't be any different with this one

I personally think it would be a good idea to keep the video for their first released single focused mostly on the band itself and not try to get too "conceptual". I think they should keep it simple and raw for the first vid. People are going to be curious about Travis and what he's capable of as "the new guy" so they need to show the world who Travis is and why he's the guy who could make all of this possible. I think something similar to the Harmful Belly video would be a good way to do it (as james5011 already said). It would be cool if they add some live footage from the shows they've recently done so the world can see how awesome the re-formed Blind Melon is! ;D

Really I'd just like the band playing the song. In fact, playing it live without the album version of the song over them. Just hear them do it, maybe acoustically, in a good sounding room.
I'd love if they did some live takes of each new song acoustically and released them, just as demos or videos or whatever. Those old BM acoustic versions of Paper Scratcher, Galaxie, Pull and Deserted are some of my favorite BM moments.

I agree with you CC, I love the acoustic versions of their songs and I wish they put out an official album of them.

Maybe a few clips of some of the stuff Colleen has been recording thrown in there too. I just can't see them shooting a video with a set, camera people, extras, wardrobe.... no.

I think it would be great to mix live and "behind the scenes" footabe of the band to kinda show the band in their new skin ya know? Like all the live footage in color and hte behind the scenes in black and white. I also think, with all due respect, that there should be no reference or images of Shannon. I hope you all get what I mean by that. I just think that any reference or images of shannon may cause others to have the wrong thought about the band continuing on...

I think Travis will eventually come into his own with this band and the new single sounds great; and I compare the situation with Sammy Hagar taking over for David Lee Roth, because he did not replace Roth's sound but instead developed his own kick azz sound and set off a whole new chapter for Van Halen.

It would be awesome if the band made a cool video of them playing live around the country going from town to town; cool camera angles would be neat.

^ agree on that nothin better for a band , at live performances-..with some takes of em on backstages , recording , jamming in black n white-..
nothin new , but its the basic spirit of a band to me-..
