I look up to Brad alot. In the videos I see, he ALWAYS has a massive smile on his face and is singing along. Amazing songwriter, player, producer... obviously one of the coolest guy on earth.

Carolyn, thats one of my favorite things about Brad Gotta love him! Me too! I have to give him a shout out for being so cool in Pittsburgh, I said hi to him but he was running late and didn't have time to stop and I figured "oh well".....but he made a point to come back to me a bit later and say hello....I was really surprised by that, he didn't have to do that. What a great guy!

Brad you ROCK!!!! Hands down my favorite bassist ever. You always hear about the les claypools and flea's out there...but never about Brad Smith. The hooks and grooves that he rocks on bass is the glue that holds EVERY SINGLE blind melon song together. Sometimes I like to just focus on the basslines to every song and every time i'm amazed.
I emailed him a few months ago just to tell him he rocks and that I look up to him so much and he actually responded. I thought that was really cool of him. No ego at all, he was really cool and told me that the new melon stuff rocks and it got me so excited.
but anyway, BRAD you're awesome. Keep on smiling on stage and doing what you do!!

brad is deiafnelty the man, and his bass style is so unique and his sound just so crisp and amazing, hes lil fills.runs are just SO DAMN TASTY deifnatley the biggest influence on my bass playing, I always said I wish I could play liek that...and his vocals are nothing to shake ya head about either
and I still have the handwritten letter I received from him with a scribbled blind melon logo on it from AGES ago way before they even had a record deal, and he actually CALLED ME when Ir eplied to that letter with my phone#, Was one of the coolest converstaions of my life(esp at that time Iw as like 14 maybe) and it always struck me as so freakin cool he took the time to do that, and remeber hearing shannon shouting in the backround
Brad is defiantley a badass mother................I dont know what my muscial landscape would be like now if it wasnt for the heavey influence he had over me

I will also have to say Brad is my fav bass player. Not because I use to sneek in there practice room with Rodgers little brother and play his bass! LOL We would wait till they left and have a lookout person in the window and jam away. He actually showed me my first lic on the bass. Great Guy and I am so proud to have had the chance to grow up with these guys. I think I will go home tonight and post some OLD PHOTOS of Brad for yall! LOL Your welcome Bradley.

Brad is one of my favorite bass players/songwriters by far. I also can't help but admire how he stepped into the producing arena and took care of bidness there. He's always so laid back and is a class act in interviews. I really look up to him. I've written to him a couple times, I don't know how what I've written came off, but he never responded. He probably just thinks I'm a freak stalker fan or something. But I'm not. I'm just greatly influenced by his musical work and appreciate everything he has brought to the world of music. I also beleive he's drastically underrated and underrecognized. It's unfortunate, but that's showbiz!!!!

Brad's the best. I loved that he came on stage in Allston and was taking pics of the crowd. It really means a lot that he (and the other guys) take the time to hang with us. Cheers Brad!
