I just went through one of those shitty moments that sometimes come by in life...and I had Life Ain't So Shitty in my head since I woke up (with j.r. we're working on it and would like to do it for the compilation if that's ok (I guess I should re-post this in compilation thread)) so it just felt perfect to put it on when this moment came. What I really wanted to say with this post is THANK YOU BLIND MELON! I could say it again and again and it still wouldn't be enough, heh. Like lots of other people, I don't know where I'd be today without their music. Every time when I was feeling the most down in my life they seemed to be what could comfort me the most or even the only thing that could do it. I'm not saying that right now it's one of them, far from it, it's just that for xxxth time I realised how important and close their music is to me. It's so comforting, maybe because it's so true, it goes right into your soul and makes you feel better. Nothing like it. Shannon was such a beautiful soul and it's just amazing how the whole band put together such a perfect music! It never cease to fascinate me. And I guess I really have to thank to all of you too, for being such a great comunity, it sure took me a long time to find it but it feels amazing being a part of it! #bearhug# #peace# #nature-smiley-015# P.S. I'm not sure if this is the apropriate section for this thread or not, maybe it could be a thread for thanking Blind Melon

I met a girl about a year ago who had tried to kill herself. She took a bunch of pills but her friend walked in on her while she was foaming at the mouth and rushed her to the hospital. So after she told me about it i sent her this song (through aim) and told her next time she gets sad just to listen to this.
We were at an informal meeting for our summer jobs a couple months later and she had her laptop with her.She turned around, smiled at me, and then i noticed she was playing this song real low on her computer.
I'm not friends with the girl really, and after getting to know her i really couldn't stand her, but the melon cheered her up i think.

I agree with you all... listening to them after a rough day or anytime you're feeling bad for any reason, it just puts me in another state of mind...

I know exactly how you all feel. Blind Melon makes me feel better no matter what. On the way to see my Dad for the last time all I listened to was Blind Melon. I got 'Change' tattooed on me just for that reason. Whenever I feel shitty I can just look at my skin and say those words. It also amazes me that I never get bored listening to them. Its just so great. N 'when life is hard , you have to change' PS. I just discovered listening to 'change' through only one earphone at a time. Its amazing you can hear only Shannon's voice. It is very haunting.

They will always be one of the best bands to come together. They really looked like they just enjoyed life. That always struck me actually with the No Rain video, they looked like they were having an absolute blast. I wonder why some people really get them and others don't? Listening to them always helps even when you feel like nothing makes sense anymore and you just want to pull the covers over your head and not come out which is exactly how I'm feeling today. #sadwavey# So maybe I'll light candles and listen to Melon.

It really is true how Blind Melon can put us into a different state of mind completely.Especially if i haven't listened to them in a day or two(shame on me).I never actually know what to expect.Sometimes I just know what I want to hear and it fits for that day or even when I'm going through something for awhile.I'm just a Melon who never gets sick of the music or Shannons incredible voice.(I know you feel the same)I enjoy how their sonsg can change meaning over time.(Due to how the lyrics are written.)No Band could ever mean more to me in my life than Blind Melon. It's a great state of mind to be in most of the time. Bye for know

That could not have been said any better. I TRULY agree with every word (except not listening everyday, I can't go a day with out it, I would get ill) Glad to know others feel the same way.
