So, I put the CD in and they open the show with Galaxie, then Toes Across the Floor, Tones of Home, Soup, and that's where I am right now...track 4, soup. However, the media player has pulled info from AMD or wherever it gets it's info from, and the track names are all wrong. Fine, figure someone just entered it in wrong, it happens on CDDB, figured maybe it was a mistake.
So, I look on the CD cover...the actual CD cover I just pulled the CD from....AND THE TRACK LIST IS COMPLETELY WRONG...SAME AS MEDIA PLAYER SHOWED IT.
What the F**K?! Not that I care that much, but Christ, for $14, they delivered a 10 year old concert in a paper/plastic sleeve (like Soup), and they can't get the tracks right? They show:
Toes Across the Floor Wilt Vernie Soak the Sin Change Walk Tones of Home No Rain Galaxie Soup Skinned Time
Clearly these are not even close to the order...what the hell?!? Unless this is some sort of inside joke between the band management and the record company that I'm not privy to, you should grab your copies now...probably be worth something more than the $14 someday due to the obvious botch job.
Peace, -ss

That's exactly what I got. I haven't opened it, and don't plan to, since I have the Westwood One boot.
Amazon.com has previews of the songs and most tracks are labeled wrong there too.

Dear friends of the Melon,
We are very disappointed with the new "Live at the Palace" release. I have not seen a hard copy of the disc yet, but I was aware several months ago that the track list was scrambled when they made an aborted attempt to put it on Itunes, but did not know that this was off on the disc as well. We've been around the bend with Capitol about this, and they pretty much did what they wanted to anyway. The band does not have a manager now, so we didn't have anyone to run interferece with the label, and were dealing with it ourselves. We hated the cover, nobody who worked on it was credited, and it was put together without any consideration for our wishes. Last year, we worked closely with Capitol to release the "best of" and "live at the metro" releases, but some new people took over and just didn't care for our input. If you go to itunes Australia or England, you'll see the cover that we picked, which fits the theme of the other releases. Brad and Christopher spent a week mixing this thing and got no credit. Lyle Eaves (our live sound engineer) facilitated the recording...and again no credit. We wanted to honor our crew members who stuck with us through some unbelievably difficult touring...again no credit. We stand by the quality of the show and recording, but cannot remain silent about what they did with it. It's a goddamm shame, too, because Capitol treated us very well to this point. As always, we appreciate your support......

I just ordered my copy from Amazon. Thanks for the information on this Rogers, I really want to say thank you for stopping by and that we all really appreciate it so much. I am excited to hear the recording and it isnt a big deal to me if the titles are a bit scrambled, but I can understand your frustration completely. #peace#

Hey Rogers... The only thing I liked about the cover, is the back, and the fact that you have to read the information about the show using a mirror. That's pretty decent.
But, yea... That's kinda fucked up about the credits. Total bull, my man. Will the current CD be pulled from the shelves for the mistakes?

Hi Shinn's Theory.. I'm not sure what's going to happen with the release at this point. We've requested a meeting with Capitol in a coupla weeks, so we'll find out some more then. We're very meticulous about the quality of what we put out there, so as you can imagine, this is disappointing and embarrasing. We work very hard to preserve the legacy of the band and Shannon, and I can tell you without reservation that this is the kind of thing that woulda sent Shannon through the roof. He's probably spinning in his grave as we speak. Also, thanks to the previous poster for pointing out the problem. rogers

I just ordered my copy from my local record store, and it should be here Friday. I can't wait. Since I am a designer, I might make my own CD-inserts that have the correct listings. Either way, I know the music will kick ass!

It's the right thing... For any band not to have a say in how THEIR material is released is just wrong. I hope the meeting with Capitol goes well. And, thank you for keeping us up-to-date on this release. It means a lot to me, and the entire Blind Melon Forum, to have you drop in (when you have the time) and connect with us. Again, thank you.
