do we have dates yet for vigil 2014, i know purdues homecoming is the 27th and they play home on the 20th so i am guessing Nel has slim pickings, any help so i can knock out a hotel and get plans in motion as the town will be packed and hotel rooms jacked up.

It's usually a while before she posts when the date is- last year she didn't tell us until April I don't think so who knows. Maybe someone who talks to her soon can put the bug in her ear about it...

The website says the vigil is Friday September 26th 2014. This is my first vigil, what time does this start on Friday? Has anyone heard of any bands playing on Friday or Saturday related to this event? Does everyone usually stay for the whole weekend? I heard that everyone stays at the Knights Inn in Lafayette, I was just curious where the melonheads hang out after.
Finally I am making the journey to this event and I was wondering (I wonder..) if anyone had some more information. Thanks in advance, I am so excited about this!

The Vigil this year is Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Saturday is usually the main day of vigil, although Friday has been pretty good the past few years as well. Sunday night is Vigilstock concert at the Knickerbocker which will have quite a few bands for your enjoyment. Knight's Inn is starting to be the not so hip place due to bedbugs and meth labs and such. Some people are staying at other hotels in town, like Red Roof Inn. They are more expensive and may be booked due to it being Purdue's homecoming game. There is a campground that has become popular called Big Fish. sites.google.com/site/bigfishncampground/as far as when things start on Friday, is usually a more casual day ...people getting into town and such. I just usually show up and see what's going on. People come n go.....Enjoy your first vigil and I will see you there.... MML&R Rachel "Roo" Ford

Is anyone going to the vigil this year? I have not seen really any chatter on this site about people going, people needing rides, where people are staying, etc. etc. Am I missing something........?
I am looking at rooms now and there are only a few hotels left that run about $200-$300 per night. (Comfort Inn, Red Roof Inn) I emailed the Big Fish campsite about vacancy and I am waiting to hear back.
Any feedback / thoughts / plans would be great to hear from fellow melon heads!
