Hey everyone,

Just got into Blind Melon a couple months ago and since then really haven't listened to much else haha

I go to Ohio State but am originally from Chicago. I'm going home next weekend for a Smashing Pumpkins concert and realized that I will be passing through Lafayette on the 21st to go back to school. Do people go there on the day Shannon passed or really only on his birthday? I was thinking about stopping by for a sec regardless.

Hello Dylan, I'm not sure why no one has replied to your inquiry yet (at least not publicly), so let me.
I have never heard of any formal gatherings at the grave site on October 21, but if you're going to be in the vacinity, you should stop by regardless and post pictures if you do.
Maybe you will inspire other Melons to make the trip out that day as well. It would make sense as we as humans celebrate one's life at both bithdays and funerals right?

Hi all,

Stopped by the gravesite on my way through Indiana today. There were a couple dudes there playing guitar, said they have been going on 10/21 for the past 4 years or so. It was a real cool experience. Here are a few pictures:
