Sounds like a great show. I'd like to see them do more improv/covers and just have a good time with it.

Amazing show! All old tunes and the guys sounded great. Travis' vocals were top notch and he was having a great time. Before soak the sin he invited us to jump the barricade. A good twenty people were on stage dancing. Played through the entire setlist including the encore. Left and we demanded more. Came out and finished with walk. Travis did some improv on it which was sweet. Guys all came out and took a final bow. Oh and I got a signed drumstick by the entire band. They all hung out afterward. Glen said some possible zeppelin covers by the end of the month. Oh and travis busted out a guitar solo during no rain ripped away! That's all I remember for now. Great night! Thanks for the update! Sounds like you had an awesome time at the show! ;D |

Another amazing Melon show come and gone. I wish I could do it everynight! One of the magical things about Blind Melon is how much they enjoy doing what they do. Its a true gift and pleasure to witness. Travis is just an amazing vocalist and showman. I was a little disappointed at the lack of For My Friends content and leaves me a bit curious of what their future plans are. I truly hope that Travis stays with the band and records some new material. To me he is the perfect fit and I am confident that Shannon would agree. Travis obviously is a huge fan and if he wasn't in the band I'm sure he would be a member of this board. Hey wait a miniute why isn't he ?  I danced,sang and came home energized. It was another beautiful evening. I didnt get to meet the band this time but after sharing a front row all night I felt liked we had communicated vastly. On a side note when I crossed the border this afternoon and told the border guard I was at a Blind Melon show he asked. "Who is doing Shannon's part?" AWESOME even the man can be a MelonHead. Excellent show!! My buddy was one of the guys that got up on stage. At the end of the song he put his arm around Rogers and told him he was his hero. lol. Rogers gave him a pick. Good times!!

man that sounds like it was a great show. It'd be rad if they came to the Machine Shop here in flint again. Hopefully next time they come through i won't have my ass in a sling haha.

Sorry I am on the west side of the state. Someone here has to be coming from Detroit though You'd think... but no. At least no one on here or the Facebook event who was going and had room in their car and/or was willing to let a total stranger into it, which is understandable. Sadly I did not make it. 2½ hours away — so close! Oh well, Sunday was a very sad day for me. I didn't give up hope on a response until about 4pm. The ticket will be a nice (but sad) keepsake whenever it finally arrives (Canada Post is currently on strike and my ticket never made it, called Ticketmaster and had myself switched to Will Call apparently needlessly). It's too bad the NYC show isn't like 3 days later than it is. Our plant starts a 2-week shutdown on the 3rd. I could've flown out and crashed at a friend's place in NY, which funnily enough would've been easier than finding a ride to the show here at home. Some things just aren't meant to be. I guess me getting to see them live is one of them. Let this be a lesson — Get your driver's license, kids! |

I'm sure everyone would agree that no one could take Shannon's part, I'm havin a hard time with that.... someone else doing that, singing his words.... even though it's cool as hell that the band is still together and want to keep playing some of the BEST music EVER just still havin a "weird" time dealin with it... |
