I dont know why I just remembered this, but who jumped up on the fence to sing Time? I thought I heard a "thank you, Meredith" from Travis.

wow! thanks for the vids novarob and for the pics and write up about the show, meredith. they really sound great. cant wait to see them in sept!

Skinned up my knees really bad, but it was worth it!!! Ive been dying to sing Time! Novarob...I love your videos!!!! Thank you so much for capturing the amazing performances!!!! |

Hi all! This was my first Melon show and I feel blessed! The acoustic set was just perfect! I got in with my hubby and had to sit through a nasty DJ gig (they played the Spice Girls *throws up*) cos we wanted to have front seats. The room was pretty much empty...Little I knew then that it was going to become filled with love for this band!  Songs I remember: Walk, Sleepy House, Skinned (Karen gave Travis the kazoo), Change (which brought me to tears, I knew  ), Galaxie, No Rain, Paper Scatcher...and??? Can't remember...It was a brilliant experience!I feel blessed!  After the set we went to see Papa Thorn (who wore the coolest BM shirt) as a friend of ours used to rent a room from him in Uni so we told him and chatted with him a while, told him we have Blind Melon lyrics engraved on our wedding rings and he was really nice to us, a very fresh spirit there! Kudos to Mr. Thorn! After that we saw the Wailers and just like Meredith I danced the set through and LOVED it! I hadn't danced like that in a while and Wailers on the Sand was just Ahhhhhhh!  Then it was time for the guy from the Beastie Boys and, forgive me if you are a fan, but I could have done without! Finally, around 9.15 they came on! I thought they could have sounded louder but the show was grand! You'll see a setlist here, just know Wishing Well was not performed and neither was Mouthful of Cavities. The guys seemed to be having fun and the energy was reciprocated. Travis was real sweet when the police arrived to get one of the climbers down and he said "He's alright, he's just having fun" and Meredith girl, you rock! I would have peed my pants had it been me!!!! The guys were also really cool after the show and Brad and Rogers were kind enough to sign the setlist for me. My hubby talked briefly with Rogers and was trying to get insights on St. Andrew's (since he's learning it with his band) and asked "there are some fills towards the end that are nearly inaudible"; Rogers's reply was "Oh, just shitty playing, probably a late night thing....", lol! My hubby has been a fan since the old days (he saw them at Woodstock and somewhere else in the early 90's) so he was totally stoked to be able to share a few words with them. THANK YOU BLIND MELON! And here are my crappy pictures, sorry my camera is just not the best! Hope you enjoy! Oh and sweet merch..and CHEAP!!!! One question: does anybody know why they didn't play any songs from the latest album? I meant to post that up earlier but this past weekend was crazy busy... Im glad I got to capture the moment for you though.
