I don't get on here often, so please don't blast me if i ask an obvious question:
How many documentaries on coming out soon on BM? The reason I ask is because I recall about 2 years ago, a girl sharing her long long story on the forum of how she has been working on this BM documentary extensively, and she even posted a teaser trailer of some sort. This was maybe back in 08?
Did this ever come to fruition?
I also heard of a BM doc that was supposed to hit Sundance?
I appreciate if someone could fill me in. Thanks!

The first one you speak of was Lilly's doc "God's Presence" .. I think she showed it @ one of the Vigils. It's not a major production, if I remember correctly. I havent seen it. I believe Sundance has come and gone this year... And, the new Melon doc wasn't in the mix.

Colleen Hennessey is currently working on a documentary about Blind Melon. “…we decided to start it at the very beginning of Blind Melon and go all the way to 2007. This has extended the editing process quite a bit…” she said (*). Colleen actually works at Three on a Tree Productions that is a Danny Clinch compagny, you may have seen her and her camera during the 2007/2008 tour. “… there is also another company working on a documentary of Shannon’s childhood that is planning to go to Sundance in 2011. I meet them at the Vigil this year and they are wonderful and coming from the heart…” said Coleen (*). Both documentaries are awaited in 2011.
I know this is old article, just trying to get clarification on what is going on.
And yeah, God's presence is the one I was thinking of from years back on the message board. Thanks for all the info.

I received a mail from Theresa Vibberts 2 months ago. Theresa works for Danny Clinch compagny. Here is what she said:
"...the doc is coming along nicely and I can't confirm it but there is a chance it will hit film festivals in 2011, as far as format [DVD or film], we haven't completely committed one way or another at this time, there are a lot of facts involved. right now, we're very focused on making the cut as beautiful and with as much integrity as we can."
Maybe you guys have more recent news. We need to be patient I guess.

Uploaded with ImageShack.usI've heard they are possibly going to premier the Shannon/Blind Melon documentary at the South by Southwest Festival, and I think that is in March.

I'm really not trying to be pushy, but impatience has gotten the best of me. I'm tired of checking Danny's website every couple days looking for an update.
Can someone with some inside information disclose or at least update us on where this documentary is at? What stage? Are we looking at a release for next year's Sundance? I thought we were going to see it last October and then February and then March and now it's April and there isn't an update whatsoever on even potential release dates. I understand there is a lot of footage and EVERYONE wants to make this film as perfect as it can be, but an update along the lines saying, "we're still working on scenes, or we're still editing the film, or we're still blah blah blah" would be appreciated. I'm tired of feeling in the dark about simple updates. I'm okay if it's not released for another year, I just want to know the current status. Sorry for the rant.

I agree with you completely! Its almost bizarre that there isn't the slightest bit of information.

I think that once the documentary is released. . . no one will even remember the months that led up to it. . . ;D

Ryan, What a positive of way of looking at it! And it certainly will, Be Worth The Wait.

Ryan, I think that's evident to begin with... it does not justify a lack of communication to the audience its intended for as a film. As I stated previously, it would be nice for the production company to update the fans, even if it's an update stating that the help won't be released for another year... anything to feel like we're in the loop is positive communication, but being kept in the dark doesn't seem to serve any purpose, especially when the film was previously anticipated to be released by now - at least news in some capacity. Honestly, how hard is it to post a one sentence comment about the status on facebook or the forum even if it's "we're still editing and shooting film and we don't anticipate the film to be released until 2014."

Also, it's not as if we have been kept in the dark this whole time. We've been aware through certain updates from Colleen or other crew members what stage the film was at during those particular times.

I won't argue with your point. You are welcome to believe that. I just don't feel like they "owe" me anything as a fan (even an update or an explanation). I guess I could demand that from them, but it doesn't change anything. I will rely on patience, and I am guessing that will work out just fine. ;D

They spoiled us with all of the interaction in the past. I feel in debt just for that... Not gonna get angry if they can't keep us in the loop ALL of the time.
