So I'm planning on making it to the vigil this year for the first time. For about the last decade I've been saying that I was going to go but something got in the way and I never made it and then September would come and go. This year I'm making every effort to get there. My best friend and I are driving - and possibly my husband too but still not sure if he's coming or staying home to watch the kiddos, details haven't been worked out yet- from Massachusetts. I read somewhere (one of those map sites) that it'll take us about 14 hours to get there from where we live (that's most likely minus any stops along the way). I'm very excited for this adventure with great friend(s) to go to the vigil.

hey! cant wait to meet you. my friend, maybe friends and i are driving. last year my friend cancelled on me, but i went anyways. it was still a blast i met a melonhead there and we roomed together. i flew which is very traumatic for me. im not doing it again, it took me the whole weekend to get over my nerves from that! we stayed in th knights inn last year......it didnt really bother me, its not the most sanitary place to stay, but melonheads do just about whatever they want and they dont say anything. my friend on the other hand is an ocd neat freak.......so im looking for a place close that we can run party w/the folks at the knights inn. if it was jut me, id be staying there again.......you really dont sleep anyways, but i do have to ride 7-8 hrs back with her! anybody have any suggestions about other hotels?

we're right on the RI boarder...my husband is definately coming, my friend is still wishy-washy but I'm pretty sure she's coming for our adventure drive...oh & don't feel dumb what-so-ever, we don't actually "know" one another, just through here (and facebook)...we're gonna go in on a room at the Knight's Inn for showering/cleaning/regrouping but will mostly be at the grave for a majority of the vigil...there is 60 days left, how exciting!!!

woot woot doing the countdown...got the car downpat, got the people, got a grocery list (we'll be eating/snacking throughout the weekend), gonna split the costs for a room at Knight's Inn when we're not at the cemetary, now just trying to completely get the kids situated (since I'm not sure about who's watching them while we're gone but that'll all be smoothed out before then)...I'm excitedly anticipating September and meeting some fantastically wonderful people!!!

So there's a possibility that we might not be driving now due to the fact that it's getting hard to try to find someone to watch the kiddlets so Shane will most likely stay behind and I'll go on my own and fly in (my friend won't be able to join me if I'm flying). Only thing is that I will then need transportation. I have a melon friend who's offered to get me from the airport if I fly into Louisville but it's a LOT cheaper to go to Indianapolis. So dunno if she'll wanna get me from there. There's some great deals from Providence which is real close to us which is good. Also I really wanna stay for vigilstock on Sunday, so I'm going to need to figure out rideshare stuff.

Kibby, I dont know yet what I am doing for the vigil this year or how I am getting there but if I end up having money to rent a car I will be more than happy to give you a ride. Worse comes to worse though there is always that shuttle that takes you from the airport and drops you off right accross the street from the Knights Inn. I think it's $50 r/t but I don't think you'll need it, there's always people going back and forth. I'll let you know about my situation when I know Can't wait to meet you and you as well Rissa! YAY! Vigil! I feel like a little kid on a countdown til Christmas:)

Thanks for all the greatness Gabbee. I am pretty sure that I'm all set with a ride from the airport now which is grand, I'll let you know definately. I am soooo excited. And yes I too feel like a kid at Christmas.

So these are my choices of flights for either Thursday or Friday of arrival to Indianapolis are the following: 10:15A, 12:40 P (these are the cheapest of the day), 1:30, 4:05, 6:20, 6:50, or 9:40P (this price is pretty darn cheap too). Then on Monday there's a handfull of flights too to get me back to Providence that are super cheap....but there's a possibility of if we can get someone to watch the kids on Sat/Sun/Mon morning that we could still be driving but the flight is a backup for me incase we can't.
