how cool is that!
it sounds like Joe Tullos is the singer. Am I wrong? Meredith, do you know who the rest of the guys are?

I dig that song! it's nice 'n loose. I found a Jakeleg Myspace, but I'm pretty sure it's not these guys. It'd be great to hear some more of this band! actually Mere, I went to the link you posted, of the club. Look at the November Schedule. Clicked on Jake Leg's name and it took me here....... www.myspace.com/jakeleg ... that's the myspace i found earlier is Glen just touring for them, or part of this band now? It'll all come out eventually ;D

Greg and I are thinking about going if we can arrange a babysitter.
Greg found the band member lineup after doing a google search...apparently it's from when they were looking for a bass player.
Members Of Band:
Joe Tullos-Vocals, Guitar Greg Bell-Keys Terry McIntyre-Guitar Mark Efland-Drums Glen Graham-Drums ...will be adding horns

Also, the line-up changed a little since that post. We fired Terry and now have Peter Hosapple (The DB's, The Continental Drifters, as well as a touring sideman for R.E.M., Hootie and the Blowfish among others) on Bass. Oh, and no horns at this show. Everyone,
This band is a very casual affair. The recording (link in Meredith's 1st post of this thread) is just something we had lying around and I just slapped a second drum kit on it a couple of days ago (since we are a two drum set band). We just needed some kind of example of how we sound. That song is called Alpha Ray and is one of around 20 of Joe's songs we have arranged for two drummers.
JAKELEG: Mark Efland - Drums, congas Me - Drums (surprise!) Joe Tullos - Vocals, Guitar Greg Bell - Piano, Organ, Accordion, Vocals,etc.. (Greg was in Chapel Hill's infamous Chicken Wire Gang) Peter Holsapple - Bass, Vocals (He was in the DB's, The Continental Drifters, and has toured as a guitarist with everyone from R.E.M. to Hootie and the Blowfish)
We do not have a website, a Myspace page, a blog, a band photo or a CD (some of this will change in the coming months) and we are not the Jakeleg from Ohio- very casual. I wanted to let the hardest of the super hard-core Melonheads know about the show just in case they wanted to do something crazy like drive to Hillsborough, NC to check us out.
November 21st at the Blue Bayou (they are a little slow getting their calendar updated, but we should appear on it soon)
News Flash! - Blind Melon has not broken up - and we are still looking for a singer (Help!)
Glen
