i am so glad i got to go to the vigil. unless youve been, you really just cant understand what its all about its really a surreal experience. it was great seein all my melonhead friends in person and getting to sit around and talk about shannon, sing melon songs, and just be around such a great group of folks. i got to talk to nell and share a picture i took of shannon in 93. nell is so down to earth and genuine. even though she is shannons mom, it was so easy to talk to her and you could just see the kindness in her eyes. i can definitely see where shannon got his beautiful soul from. vigilstock was a blast too. the bands were great. there was definitely alot of talent in general at the vigil. i especially loved hearing little melon and jamie sing and play.....very talented folks!! i loved getting to hang out with emily and mike and just dave, dave and sky and twisted_3!! i also had a great time watchin the melons pass the admiral nelson's around at the knights inn....i havent laughed that much in a long time. oh yeah and roomin with cali was a blast......we had some crazy times for sure!! its definitely an experience i will never forget. im already missing my melonhead friends.......   heres a few pics..... thought i took more but guess not! www.myspace.com/cassrey |

I had a blast too! I wish I had gotten more people's names so I can know when I am chatting on here if I actually met them! I was foolish about that. I was more worried about paying attention to my kids and Steve, I guess. I loved talking to Nel and Vernie, and you are right... you can see where Shannon's kind soul came from. They are wonderful people who genuinely love people and take to them so easily. Nel and Vernie treated us like family almost instantly.. my kids love them too! My 10 year old said, "she treats us just like we are her own family!". She is so right. I cant wait until next year!

How great!! Every time when vigil comes to mind I pray to go there just once in my life... I hope everyone had a great vigil! I'd love to hear more vigil 09 stories...

hello everyone!!
This was my first year going and it was truly AMAZING. I met so many great people and i cant wait to see you all again. Vigil was such a great experience and i'm sure Shannon would be so happy to see all these people here for him!
