Hello everybody!!! Well I attended my first vigil since 2001 and am definitely in a good place in my spirit!! It was so wonderful to be back in Lafayette / Dayton after all these years. A huge Thank you goes out to Mama Nel and Vernie!!!! It was so nice to be surrounded by the people who share a common love for Shannon!!! Lemme tell ya it was nice to see some people I havent seen in years! Even nicer than that to finally meet some of the people who Ive known from this sight / myspace & facebook but never met face to face. Jamie Shilkraut is amazing and really has captured my heart in a beautiful friendship. She sang her tribute song to Shannon _ "Walls of Death" for me and told of a story of how I made her a handkerchief as it was being filmed for the documentary. Annie Meyer and her tribute song to Shannon is amazing The Day The Music Died in New Orleans is beautiful and the song she sings with Sky - Wagon Wheel is still stuck in my head. She is very talented and has a beatiful spirit. The list of everyone else would be a long one and each has a special place in my heart and I dont wanna omit anyone but you all know who you are!!! Theres a few I didnt get the pleasure to talk to and its my only regret. They took pics of my tattoo for both of the documentaries that are in the works and here's the best one of all......Mama Nel said she wrote something about me in her book she is working on and wants me to hear what she wrote to be sure Im ok with it!!!!! I couldnt be more honored and felt as special as I did when she told me that!!!! My...well Shannons dumptruck I made for him is still a vigil staple that sat right above his tombstone and that makes me very happy and it was nice to see the ole dumptruck again!!! Oh and Brad from Ohio the poster is amazing and I wanted to thank you for taking the time to design and print htem up!!!!! Im prolly leaving out alot of little things but Its alot to absorb in and process!!!!!! MML&R
