I can't understand why I am being bombarded with ANC "Check my Brain" but still all I can get local radio to play is "No Rain". Sure, I like alice in chains, and I like No Rain, but how come Blind Melon's new CD got no air wave loving, and to this day most of the DJs around here didn't even know they were touring with a new singer? What up with that?
PS yes I request it, yes I inform them. No luck.

There are stations that play(ed) the new singles.. and stations that had the band in for performances and interviews... I'm surprised that Tulsa wouldnt play the new stuff. Some stations are too set in their ways.
I bet college stations play the hell out of the new BM CD.

I heard Wishing Well quite a bit, but was definitely fristrated with the lack of airplay. Perhaps AIC being on a much larger label has helped?

Sadly, it's tough when Clear Channel and a few other media conglomerates own 90 pct of the radio stations in the country. That's why the internet is so important. It's freedom to be here and meet great people and listen to what we want.
But I agree, I wish BM would get more play, to be sure. Although I never listen to commercial radio anymore.

my husband has XM radio in his new truck; but all he listens to, it seems, are 80s hair bands. It's very distressing.

2 minutes of Jackyll and I'm twitching. I actually like a few Jackyll songs and, admittedly, some Dokken as well. But I don't care for 80's hair music enough to listen to a whole channel of it. Though at one time in my life I would have...

I would and did...in the 80's. Apparently I met the singer from Dokken in the mid-80's at metro zoo in florida walking to the back ampitheater to see Joe Walsh. Some tall blonde guy with a boom box on his shoulder went by my friend and I. He said WOOOO, we said WOOOO! He said "you like that? That's my band, Dokken!" we said WOOO!! and kept on walking. Hey, it was the 80's, we were all drunk and stoned and young. So was Joe Walsh for that matter. Terrible concert. It rained on us all, he was staggering around and off key (so were we). OK anyhow, railroaded thread. I found another alternative station on the radio today. No idea how long they've been on the airways, but probably pretty new. I'll be hitting them up for some BM. Maybe I can get them to at least play Galaxie or Change.

My boyfriend says he heard a BM song on Sirius satellite today and it wasn't No Rain! He's sure he heard the closing funeral march at the end, so I'm guessing maybe it was Lemonade! He's heard No Rain (of course) before, and The Pusher.
I'm gonna have him find out the station tomorrow so I can call in some requests!

The only BM songs I have heard on Sirius have been No Rain and 3 Is the Magic Number. To hear Lemonade would shock me. I did a playlist search on www.dogstarradio.com and they show Tones of Home was played yesterday!!! Come to think of it, I think when For My Friends came out they played Wishing Well once. Sirius does not give the Melon much love.
