Has it been released?
Hmmmm... I'd ask Greg Prato.. He's a member here (and the author of the Shannon Hoon/Blind Melon book)...

look at the official site, and theres a "contact us" link... www.malfunkshun.com/home.htmi'd go right to to source. as of mid 2008 it didnt look like it had been put out on dvd yet. even though the screenings took place back in 2005. a comment on IMDB states that it had been tied up in legal crap... but not sure how reliable of a fact that is. (albeit very plauseable) ALSO: the wikipedia mention of this story states at the bottom.... On October 24, 2006 surviving Malfunkshun members Kevin Wood and Regan Hagar, plus vocalist Shawn Smith and bassist Cory Kane, began writing new music together with lyrics written by Andrew Wood before his death for the release a new album, after which it will go on tour. The band had originally intended to use the name Malfunkshun, soon changing it to Subfunkshun or The Subfunkshun Project, and eventually settling on From The North[1] (Von Nord). Maybe they are gonna try and coincide something, for timing and marketing purposes. I really liked that Shawn Smith doing vocals for all the "related" stuff... like Pigeonhead, BRAD, and Satchel ESPECIALLY "SHAME" from BRAD... i played the hell out of that album. let us know if you hear anything...

Ishy, I've been DYING to watch this film!!!! Every couple months I visit the official website hoping to read that the DVD has finally been released but nothing I'm sure it's a powerful film considering Andy's story. If you're just looking for Andy footage though, check out this link: www.wammybox.com/pag/video.htmThis is live Malfunkshun videotaped from a high school show they played in 1983. I haven;t had the chance to purchase it yet but I definitely want to. There are also a couple CDs for sale on that website, some of which I did purchase so you can rest assure that it's not a scam.

Thanks Gabbe it is better quality, I just ordered a new Apple cd, mine was pooched. I'm afraid that their legacy is just going to disappear and I really don't want that to happen , so I gotta get as much of their work as I can. Actually it would be great if someone took all those vids and put something together. Have you read some of the comments on you tube, it's laughable comparing him to Vince Neil whom I despise. As Chris Cornell who was roommates with him said , when he first met Andy it was kind of overwhelming because Andy was quite effeminate but soon grew to really like him. Someone also said that he was the only stand up comedian and frontman he ever met because of the way he interacted with the fans. I'm glad to know I'm not the only melon who appreciates him. Well 'nuff said. #smileyhug# for Gabbee.
