all good.
i just get irritated when someone jumps all over an opinion when the point has been lost completely.
just to recap my original point on unified theory having been able to surpass blind melon had they stuck it out. i meant that in a similar vein as how dave grohl and the foo fighters have surpassed nirvana in the eyes of many. to elaborate further, when people think dave grohl, they now think foo's.
for me, i let the original version of blind melon go a long time ago. anyone who knows me is aware of how huge shannon hoon was to me. the fact that i don't worship the same way others might doesn't mean i think any less of his musical talent or legacy.
without question, i would have loved to have seen chris with the band, but that doesn't look like it'll ever happen and that's ok too. at the end of the day, new music is what it is. for my friends is a great record. i hope to hear more.
why not call rene lopez?! his solo record is awesome.

I always assume my point will be completely lost, and I'm rarely disappointed. Therefore trying to prove a point that wasn't grasped in the first place is usually just frustrating at best. Sometimes it's better to just keep quiet and let folks figure it out for themselves.

Funny you mention Rene Lopez, I was just looking him up and wondering what he's been doing. He has a really low voice though.

well, i was thinking...(diversion to conflict....i come here to chill out and talk about good music...i respect opinions, but the conflict, its bringin me down man!!!!!) Any way, yeah blind melon rockstar, is that like american idol with the band members as judges? i didnt really watch it, but i think it would be funny to hear the band critique the singers... you know rogers could be the cynic full of sarcasm , kinda like simon, guess brad would be the nice judge (paula) and smile alot and glen would probably be painfully honest (i get that feel about him...i like that) and christopher, well, i dont know, guess hed be smilin and makin jokes while being completely aware of the ridiculousness of the situation...that would be funny. cheap, tacky and shallow and not melon style at all to me, but the thought of it is very entertaining Now that's just entertaining! Thanks for making me smile before I go to work!

Dig the melon, hard to swallow some of these opinions posted, and like to hear "the official word" come down from the band! Viva Blind Melon! My buddy had a hard time hearing Blind Melon ala Travis, but one show took care of that problem. I FEEL Blind Melon in my soul and whatever the future brings, I'm still FEELING ya in my soul! It feels even better than Chicken Soup for my soul! Good Luck in your search, and if ya find someone, don't forget to come visit me in Utah!

ROGERS....you're so loveable!
I'll love Blind Melon forever, the old, the new....I just hope it's not over. I hope you'll be able to find someone that fits. I could stand there and watch you play the music without a singer too...only I'd be singing pretty much every word like I've always done, right along with Shannon in my head.

Don't mind me, but this has been festering in my head. I was so happy when they got together w/ Travis. I absolutely loved their work with him. I was totally bummed about them not working out. I had a wonderful year w/ the new album and seeing the tour many times that if things don't work out, I will always have many great memories. So, if this is it........I want to thank the guys for all the happiness they have given me since 1992 until now. If it is not it........I want to thank the guys for continuing on, and that they have my support with whatever decisions they make. #whitedancesmilie#
cheers #smiliedrunks# cheers

I could stand there and watch you play the music without a singer too...only I'd be singing pretty much every word like I've always done, right along with Shannon in my head. That's what I did during the soundcheck in London, Travis wasn't there (well only for a few minutes) but it was still awesome to listen and sing! I just wished they played more of the songs entirely but hey, I can't complain, it wasn't a show... I was happy I could be there in the first place, and have some extra music!

Please tell me you are kidding? That is sad that you call a band your life...these guys are just human beings everyone there is no reason to put them on such a pedistal. Sure they are great drummers..or guitar players...or lyricists...whatever...but they are human just like you and me. It's one thing to praise and adore the music but to call them "your life" is a bit stalkerish... I'm sorry you think that, but for alot of people here Blind Melon/Shannon Hoon have saved our lives, We wouldnt be here if it wasnt for this band. I think its kinda rude you would judge someone that way. Oh wait guess what BLIND MELON IS MY LIFE! And if thats a stalkerish thing, im guility, but i think i owe blind melon my life after as many times as they have saven it. I'm sure alot of people would say the same thing. Cody, thank you for sticking up for me. We wouldn't be here if we were just regular fans. I think that any band that can keep fans 12 yrs after the release of their last album w/the original singer is something special. Let the stalking commence! #haha#
