Does anyone think there could have been any more perfect of a fit to take over lead singer role (not saying 'replace shannon'-impossible task) than Travis? I think Travis may be the finest singer I have ever heard, with all due repect and more to Shannon. Us Melon heads are lucky to have 2 legends singing for our favorite band. I still can't believe Melon is back, and I commend the band for not hunting for a singer like so many other bands have. Those bands all fizzled out after sucking until their break up, and this happened naturally and look at what we have. Keep it up. I can't wait until the new album (yes I'm greedy

I'm also ready for Album #2, not that I'm greedy but the songs are so good that I want more and more!
I think Travis is an excellent vocalist, he has a very unique style and range that complements the band beautifully.

Travis is a great singer! The shows are very powerful. I would love to see Shannon up there like everyone else, but since we can't, T dub is an excellent fit. I love his solo work, which you should check out if you haven't already. Travis was also talking about a solo album coming out the end of the year, which I can't wait for! Peace, Love, & Melons

I agree with everyone. His solo & 00-Metro work is really great so everyone really needs to get some of that. I'm glad he's writing with & singing with Blind Melon & The fact that this has all happened naturally is why I/We Love the Music so much & accept Travis as the new singer. When I heard him singing with them for the first time, that Sealed the Deal for me.I was ready to hear more & more. As everyone knows the Live performances are absolutely incredible. The Band is having fun & sounding phenominal. It wouldn't work without an Excellant singer like Travis T. though. They completely mesh,Travis's voice alone at times blew the roof off of the places when I saw them. I know I'll Love what else Blind Melon has come up with.Honestly, there is not a Blind Melon song that I don't like. I'm excited about his next Solo record/cd coming out too. There's alot of people who really love Travis & feel like we do so I'm glad this thread is here for everyone to post on. ;D Talk at Ya later Melons ;D

I am really curious to see what songs that Travis has written (his solo stuff), that we have heard, will become Blind Melon songs. They have said they wrote a lot more then we have heard. I would imagine some of that stuff came from Travis. I am glad he is going to release a solo outing. His song Cage is high on my list of things to listen too right now.
It is going to be so awesome to see Travis grow with Blind Melon.
Peace.

His solo work is what sold me, this is before any of the Melon songs were released. Then I got @ Malibu w/ RFR, and attack of the calm bomb, that was it. that sealed it. Shannon couldnt be replaced, but he can be filled in for by only one person, and thats Travis. Had Shannon never been a part of Blind Melon, I could still see Melon being a legendary band with Travis as their front man(had Travis came around about 91). He is the perfect fit, as Shannon was the perfect fit. Unfortunately Shannon had to die for Travis to be "discovered" (not the best word, I know, but you get what I'm saying hopefully), but with heartache comes pleasure I believe, and this is the pleasure after the heartache of losing Shannon.

I'm talkin back to silence, wishin you'd talk back. That's what the world is lacking on mass radio right there-shinig brilliance. I swear that's beyond even Bob Dylan/ Paul Simon/ Jim Morrison quality writting. I don't know if you are talking about the live acoustic ones he has done or his studio one on his solo album, but on the solo album, this is the truth, my mouth dropped wide open with the biggest smile ever when that drum beat kicked in. That song (on the solo album esp.) kicks everything else's ass, in my opinion. It should forever ban all other non-Melon/ Travis music, yes, even my beloved Floyd, Doors, Pearl Jam, and Janis.
