So the band Hollows Follow who is also playing at the Derby show tonight has a myspace bulletin HOLLOWS FOLLOW and BLIND MELON tonight. Could this be the first live show with all the members? I know that Travis will be playing a few songs with Sarah the drummer from Rain Fur Rent. I guess all of us who don't live in L.A. will have to wait to hear. Either way wish I was there.

I emailed the soundguy and asked...
However, I went to Hollow Follow's MySpace site and clicked on the event. It said it was cancelled due to a fire... Not sure if they couldn't make it themselves, or the club was shut down. We'll see.
"Due to the Hollywood fire and some of our band members needing to evacuate their homes, Hollows Follow must cancel our show tonight. We greatly apologize, but sometimes the need to protect your home from fire is greater than the need to play HF music. Thank you for understanding. Love to all.
Joshua of HF"

Travis posted the following bulletin yesterday on myspace in regards to the fire:
Date: May 9, 2007 4:57 PM Subject DERBY SHOW IS STILL ON FOR TONIGHT Body: despite the fires and all the mess caused by it, the derby show is still on tonight as planned.
please note that you should take alternate routes as LOS FELIZ BLVD might still be closed tonight.
the best way to come would be to go NORTH ON HILLHURST AVE. take HILLHURST AVE. all the way to the intersection of los feliz blvd and find a place to park
sorry about all this confusion....
I GO ON AT 8:45 SHARP

Long time lurker...
I was at the Derby last night...DOPE DOPE DOPE SHOW!!
Travis played a handful of tunes on his own before Chris got up w. him. They did 'Skinned (w. kazoos,) 'Soup,' 'The Pusher,' and a new tune. All were STUNNING!
Then Travis played a few tunes w. the drummer and bassist from Rain Fur Rent.
**edit to say that Brad was in attendance...

Super chemestry, you could tell RIGHT away why the rest of the band knew this whole thing could work out...all i can say is that he fits.
it was clear that Travis knew ALL about the Melon tunes. ie - the little accents and what not that Shannon threw in were all there. He was very respectful of the songs. Even commented about 'soup' being one of his favorites. its not that he sounds "identical" to shannon, but more that his voice gels PERFECTLY, as shannon's does/did.

Right on man! Thanks for filling us in on the show. Do you happen to know what tunes he played with Sarah and Grant from rfrproject? Oh yeah and how is that venue? I've only been able to see Travis in SLO and Davis.

The show recorded successfully.. But, as Rogers stated, they don't want to share that stuff until the album is released.
