Hello from London!!! ;D I LOVE London!!! It's BRILLIANT, as brittish would say I love the architecture here, buildings are so different one from another, really really nice!!!
It's a british festival today, closed streets in the center, loads of people and a big party! I love it! ;D
Anyhoon, once again, Spain was fantastic!!!
Edu, glad to see you arrived home safely! I so wish people like you lived close to me and we could all hang out more! And yes, happiness was definitely in my eyes after the show, and even before ;D and it still is hehe
I'm in a fancy Apple store right now on a 20" iMac, unlimited free internet! BUT they don't allow plugging any devices in the computer, can't upload pics and vids
So I'm just gonna write here to save some time&money for later when I go to a cyber space and upload stuff.
So, my SPAIN story...
I arrived in Vitoria at 1 or 2pm and walked through the old part of town. Beautiful! I was STARVING, looking for a place to eat but even when i found it, I couldn't understand shit from the menu and nobody there speaks english or any other language than spanish! and then they say french people are like this! Spanish are worse!
Anyway, in the end I finally managed to get some food (it's even more compliacted when you don't eat meat...) cause a costumer spoke french and helped me out...
Then went to the festival place, texted Fergus and Edu, Fergus and Jerry came soon. It was 5 or 6pm and Melon was scheduled for 00:40. None of us cared for any other band so what else can you do than drink beers???
You can imagine how drunk we were by midnight Fergus even took a nap in front of the stage before it started to get crowdy in front
Sex Pistols were playing right before Blind Melon on another stage (there were two stages). Blind Melon had to wait for Sex Pistols to finish before going up (to avoid two bands playing at the same time) and they just wouldn't finish!!! I had a feeling they had like 5 encores but I'm sure it was just the impatience
The melon crowd kept screaming and booing at the screen where we could see Sex Pistols, telling them to get the fuck off the stage
I have a cool vid of Fergus, Jerry, Edu, me and maybe a few others drunk singing Life ain't so Shitty while waiting for the show, I laugh every time I watch it on my camera. GOOD TIMES!
So Blind Melon finally got on stage...it took me 20 hours (car-train-bus-plane-sleeping at the airport-2nd plane-bus-bus-bus) to get to Vitoria but the evening hanging out with melons and only one minute into 2x4 made it all worth it!!! Right when this thought went through my head Travis sang "oh what a feeling...!" and I thought yesss what a feeling! Crazy.
I was too excited and drunk and forgot about the setlist first, started writting it down after a few songs but then forgot again...and I lost that paper anyway.
So I'm gonna write it down by memory.
The setlist, in no order, except Hello Goodbye/2x4 I know was first song and Walk the encore.
Oh, and I was SOOO happy to hear I Wonder and Walk!!! Amazing!!!
Also, the screaming for encore was LOUD! Louder than any melon show I've been to but of course the crowd was much bigger too. I still can't believe so many people there were so into Blind Melon! Awesome!!!
Oh and Pardi, not sure where you got the info about lots of encores but there was only one encore and one song for the encore - Walk. I won't complain about it though, after such a magic show and hearing Walk for the first time in the end - worth a few other songs together to me! When they came back for the encore I was screaming Walk, Walk!!! and I'm pretty sure they couldn't hear me anyway but yesss they played it!!! ;D
ok, the setlist now:
Hello Goodbye
2x4
I Wonder
Galaxie
Soak The Sin
Soup
For my friends
Change (dedicated to Shannon)
Toes
Mouthful (that rocked too!!! i think i heard it only the time in NYC with Jena when the sound was so bad i could hardly hear them sing)
Down on the pharmacy
Hypnotized
Time
Ripped away/No Rain
The Pusher
encore: Walk
I'm sure I'm forgetting a few songs, I wrote them down next day by memory but I don't have the paper with me now.
