Can't wait to see ya pre vigil Chickie! Talked to Nel today and she said u might be the ride so I'm STOKED to hang w/ her for another Melon show. It'll be like October in Chicago all over again. If any of you are worried about general admission sell out that's not at all possible... it's in a huge park. The barricaded area in St. Louis was def. bull shit for those of us who didn't know that would be the situation, especially after I spent bout $100 in gas, and only had the general admission money left for the trip. It wasn't too bad bein behind the barricade tho. Can't wait to see everyone there. If you don't know me come up and introduce yourself... here's a clickable thumbnail pic so you can pick me out.

It was really great to hear them and I think they won over some new fans. Although I really enjoy it more when I see them play in a more intimate setting like the Vogue here in Indy.
They played "Walk", which was super awesome to hear live!!

That show was amazing! The only thing that could've made it better was if they had shown up on time, but hey, stuff happens. It was my first time seeing them, and I expected it to be a great show, but I never expected for there to be that much energy between the band and the crowd. Now I'm even more excited for the vigil. I took some pictures of the show and a (semi-crappy) video of Change, which is here: s18.photobucket.com/albums/b121/fertilizerleaves/blind%20melon%208-31-08/On an unrelated note... I just spilled some Rice Krispies (luckily without milk) all over my keyboard, and now I can hear them crunching under the keys as I type. Sigh.

if you weren't in the VIP aria then you must of been right near us caiti (if we didn't meet i never remember) you've got Nico Hoon in the back of 3 or 4 pictures . Abby got some grate shots, i'll put them up for anyone who was there to take we love to share. the show was grate it was hotter then shit my face burnt, but it was worth it. i dance and sang my butt off i got to meet Nel Hoon for the first time and Nico. Nel was a sweet heart she came over to say hi with a huge hug she was wonderful just full of joy and love a real grate person i can't wait to see her at the vigil. Nico is a character we thought she would be shy, OH NO. she not only looks just like shannon and i mean she really looks like him, she has his same energy she was all over the place we got a picture with her it was funny when we got her attention to get the picture she was like hold on i got one more she was posing and signing autographs. it was a real good time. can't wait for the next indy show.

Hey Connie~ It was good to finally meet you and Karen, although short and sweet! It was so hot and I'd been dealing with my five year old for six hours, I was just ready to go! We did accomplish our goal which was for him to meet Glen especially, and all of the guys! Glad you had a great time, and look forward to seeing you again soon! i153.photobucket.com/albums/s237/chickie- [/IMG]65/blindmelon8-31-08Indy098.jpg[/IMG]

I thought the show was great. We all baked in the sun...my face is fried! I didn't even realize I was blistered until I got home.
The VIP thing sucked. I wish I would have made plans earlier to I could have bought the VIP ticket but it was great that most of the band came over to talk to those who weren't VIPs.
Setlist:
2x4 I Wonder For My Friends Change Walk Soak the Sin Soup Galaxie No Rain Time
I wish the set was longer but it was TOTALLY worth the 27 hours of driving! ;D

I agree the VIP thing sucked....wish I was cool enough to score a pass, but at least I had a friend who took my son over to the barricade to meet Glen, and all the guys! He did manage to get everyone's autographs (except Travis) and pics! And then the guys all came over to the merch table area so I could get my fix too. This is the first time I didn't get hugs from everyone, got Glen though!!! I totally missed Nico and Lisa, although I saw them behind the barricade...luckily I met up with Nel when she first arrived because I never saw her again. She showed me some new Vigil shirts...did you happen to get one?

It was great meeting you too Chickie! Your son is sooo cute!
I didn't get a chance to see the vigil shirts. I was bummed when I heard that there was one of the Sleepyhouse shirts. I think it was Matt that said they ended up not selling them.
I was lucky enough to meet Nico and see Nel again...thanks Brad for the pics!
I have now included Indiana as part of my touring territory so you will all be seeing me again. I think I will be making it the show before the vigil so we have to hang out more.

yes, Nel had brought some shirts... i'm not sure that they were VIGIL shirts.. but were just shirts that she had made up.
to best describe them... picture a "property of Shannon Hoon" shirt and then she had several different colors. but each one was kind of tye dyed.. but not your typical or normal tye died with lots of colors.. like the Red one had maybe 2 shades of red and then white in it. or same with Blue. Same with Orange.
When she showed us them, she did have ONE sleepyhouse shirt left in XXL.
Well, when Tara got there, the guys from the RIBFEST were running the Merch area... so they used the Blind Melon stuff.. and pretty much left Nel's bag untouched. but later they did say that they had sold a couple of them... and I noticed the sleepyhouse shirt wasnt on top anymore... so i'm not sure if it got shuffled, or wether it got sold.
Was good to get to meet some more of you, and see some of the people i had met before. BRAD & SWTPTato, and Connie, abby, and Karen, Karen @ deadgirl! good to see you again!, Cody, hunter, and Katie ..... the list goes on....
Many many thanks to Karen, Connie, and Abby for askin me to tag along out to Shannons. :-) u guys are sweethearts!
looking forward to seeing all the people that come to the vigil this month... THIS MONTH!!! whooo hoooooon!
