I did like that album Greg! ;D it, for the most part was pretty acoustic. I could kinda see the "Melonesque" progression/jamminess. The vocals weren't anything special. but the music did move around alot You should check out more than just that album although Low Spark is awesome ...I love Traffic...great live band as well...another band I grew up with listening to my Dad's vinyl...One day his vinyl collection will be mine but i am def not in any hurry to inherit it!!!!! MML&R Rachel thanks for the tip Rachel! I'll be keeping an eye out for them on vinyl. i like the thought of hearing things as they were listened to back in the day, u know. U can't describe a vinyl sound to today's digital sound. My grandmother has an ottoman full of vinyl that she never listens to. they are my youngest uncles that he left behind that he's never claimed. She seems to like have her kids keepsakes around to comfort her from being alone. Man she even has some easter bunnies still in their boxes from the 70's lol. I tell u as kids we were 'oft tempted & as many times pulled away from them boxes what a collection she has!

Breck, we went to the vinyl store for Mother's Day and I almost bought Nothing's Shocking but we already had so much stuff we were buying that it's just going to have to wait until next time. How does it sound? Is it 180 gram?
Our latest additions: Regina Spektor: Begin To Hope (new 180 gram) Ben Harper: Burn To Shine (new 180 gram) R.L. Burnside: A Ass Pocket of Whiskey (new limited edition 180 gram) Black Sabbath: Paranoid (new 180 gram) Bob Marley: African Herbsman (new numbered limited edition green vinyl) Jimi Hendrix: Free Spirit (used 1980) Jimi Hendrix: Midnight Lightning (used 1975) Doors: Alive She Cried (used 1983) Tori Amos: God 12" single with remixes (used UK import)
We'll be going back to the store on the 19th to pick up the new Ben Harper and Relentless7 vinyl as well as the new Iron and Wine vinyl release. So much good stuff is coming out on vinyl right now, it's awesome!

So much good stuff is coming out on vinyl right now, it's awesome! Nothing's Shocking sounds amazing! It is a sealed original pressing, so no 180 gram. But it still sounds tight and perfect, really warm. The same Regina Spektor vinyl was in mine too and I almost got it. We have a bunch of new Ben Harper here too...you guys talk about him so much that I think I really need to get into him. I am going back this weekend to pick up a Back to Black 180 gram edition of Sublime- Sublime. Can't wait! We also have Beck Odaley 4 LP, but I don't have $100 right now...but I am working on it! I also inquired about some Kings of Leon. I could order it from the bands website, but I would rather support my local record store in the process, so he is going to look for me. You are so right, there is some amazing stuff coming out on vinyl right now! Viva vinyl! p.s. totally get what you mean about spending too much and having to put stuff back...the 3 vinyl I bought set me back $100, so now I have to wait to get more! LOL, it is worth it!

The Regina Spektor album sounds AMAZING! They also had her Soviet Kitsch album but that one is going to have to wait for another trip. I got the Sublime self titled a few weeks ago. Odelay would be sweet, but that is expensive...
Kev, Burn to Shine sounds awesome! I still think Fight For Your Mind takes the cake though - perfect for vinyl! I can't wait to get Live From Mars, but it's expensive and I'm going to have to order it. My b-day is around the corner so I'll probably splurge on it soon.

Yay, my self-titled showed up in the mail today, in great shape & worth every penny! Other than that my BM vinyl collection consists of 6 different various 7" singles ( still seeking that Elusive 7" red vinyl Galaxie). Won an auction on Ebay last week for 8 records all from local artists circa late '80s/early '90s. At least a couple of them I know are super hard-to-find, and I got the whole lot for a mere $38 US ($4.86 each). I'm crazy excited, waiting for them to show up! Had to talk the person into shipping to Canada (aka across the Detroit River) though. Sometimes I forget that place is in another country, it's so close.

I haven't posted in this thread in awhile but it's only fitting to do it now since I've just expanded my vinyl collection to include Abandon Jalopy - "Death and Joy". I'm so glad Brad decided to release it on vinyl...and 180 gram to boot! Brad, you're spoiling us...
