Holy Shit! You got some great LPs! I have a great little store here and I run into the same problem of too many albums, not enough money. I am currentl looking for Jimi Hendrix "Are You Experienced", "Axis: Bold As Love", and "Electric Lady Land". He is the only one of my favorites that I don't have on vinyl. So, if any of you have one of those you wish to give me, I will gladly give it a good home! LOL ;D Breck, I'll keep an eye out for those Hendrix albums. It sucks that the one vinyl I want most is super rare and expensive - Elliott Smith's "Roman Candle". I've seen it going from anywhere between $500 and $10,000 (yes you read that right). I wish it would get re-released so I could afford it, I don't care about the collector's value, I just want to be able to hear it on vinyl because I know it would sound phenomenal like his other albums do. I'd also obviously love to have Blind Melon S/T and Soup on vinyl, but I know I'll probably never be able to justify spending that much money to buy them. It also sucks that a lot of my favorite albums released in the past few years have never been released on vinyl. I think any Avett Brothers album would sound great, but they haven't released any vinyl (to the best of my knowledge). I also think The Wood Brothers "Ways Not To Lose" would sound perfect on vinyl, but I haven't seen that one either. Run on Sentence's "Oh When The Wind Comes Down" and Horse Feathers' "Words Are Dead" would also kick ass on vinyl but no such luck.

By the way, www.stevehoffman.tv/forums/ is an amazing place if you're into audio and music. Plus, some of the best engineers alive post there. i.e., Ken Scott.

I just got the Doors box set that was released on Tuesday! I have #01865/12500, pretty stoked! I wanted to leave it sealed, but I had to listen to it. I put on one lp after the other in order on Saturday, kicked back and played some PS3. One of the best Saturdays I have had in a long time! But, now I am broke cuz it was expensive, but that is what credit cards are for right? Oh, I also picked up an original 1970 mint pressing of Woodstock and Woodstock 2 off ebay.

I am also always looking for other BM lps so I will let you know if one comes in.

Anybody have a turntable they're willing to part with? I've got a bunch of vinyl, but not way to listen to them.

Anybody have a turntable they're willing to part with? I've got a bunch of vinyl, but not way to listen to them. There is a shop down here in Dubuque that sells brand new audiotechnica turntables for $100 if you are interested. Although, it would cost as much to drive from Milwaukee to here (3 hrs) to get one! If you are handy, ebay has some that could be fixed for really cheap. Hope this helps!

I found some great albums at the swap meet the other day for 2$ each. ELO....TUBULAR BELLS, Crosby Stills and Nash....Jefferson Starship....alas no turntable. I really need to invest in one.

311guy, how much are you willing to spend? I dunno, not too much. Like $75 tops. It doesn't necessarily have to be new.

Have any of you ever used Gruv Glide to treat and clean your records? It was recommended to us, but at $25-$30 per can I don't want to buy it if it's not all it's cracked up to be. www.gruvglide.com/HOME.html

I have used it before, but I didn't notice too big of a difference between it and the RCA D4+ that I normally use. It could have been that the records were already pretty clean when I used the Gruv Glide, but the D4+ works well and is way cheaper!

I dunno, not too much. Like $75 tops. It doesn't necessarily have to be new. Yikes! Hate to say it but, a $75 turntable might actually destroy anything you put on it. Honestly, the bare minimum of turntable to have any positive results is $300 to 500. Here's my recommendation. Find a used Music Hall MMF 2.1 turntable. Then spend another 100 on an Audio Technica AT440mla cartridge and have a pro set it up. That is my lower end table and it works quite well. I know, I know, getting into vinyl ain't cheap. But it's SO worth the investment!
