Hello everyone! ;D
I just wanted to give you all a quick update from the road. The details will come later, but here's what you need to know ~ Blind Melon is tearing it up and breaking it down! The music is just downright amazing! It makes me so happy to be here seeing this band play live!
I have got to meet all of the band members, and some of them I have got to talk with before and/or after the shows. They are such down to earth people who truly appreciate their fans. Rogers lives up to his reputation as the jokester of the band! CT is just so completely disarming when you talk with him and has plenty of good things to say. Brad was able to tell me about some of his hang-gliding experiences! Glen talked with lots of fans after the Falls Church show, and his drumming has just been so powerful at these shows! Travis is just as cool as everyone says he is!
Beyond the amazing music at the shows and meeting the band, it has been just as much fun to meet the melons from this forum. I can't explain what a real connection I have made with these people on this tour. Bob Marley wrote a line in "Who the Cap Fit" that goes, "Who feels it, knows it," and I think that really describes how fans of Blind Melon feel. We are all different, but we have some underlying commonalities that make us bond immediately like we have known each other our entire lives! I can't say enough about everyone I have met (all good things of course ;D ). When it's all said and done and time to leave these friends, I will be very sad. . . We feel like we should all live in the same town. A town called "Melon" where the biggest part of downtown has a theater district with a new venue to go see Blind Melon at - each and every night! But seriously, I have made such real connections with everyone while on this short leg of the tour that I have no doubt that these are my friends for life!
I will get the photos, recordings, video clips and other details posted once I return from my trip. Right now my thoughts and memories are marinating and simmering, but I will grab a notepad and a pen for the plane ride home so I can start putting my thoughts down on paper.
I am so happy! Blind Melon is "joy"! #dance#
to be continued later. . . #rock#
