Holy fucking shit. Guys - I can't even type right now.
Tonight was more than amazing. It was like a religious fucking experience.
Excuse my grammer, spelling, and all that shit right now.
Tonight was a family affair.
Nel Hoon was in the house.
And in the most unexpected and seemingly impossible turn of events - Nico Hoon made her fucking debut with the band.
Yes - you read that right. They brought Nico out to the most rabid applause i ahve ever heard.
She sang Change.
People were crying. the rest of us were speechless, breathless, and hairs standing on our arms
What a brave girl. Travis kept saying all night that there was a special guest. He had told me in Providence that they were trying to get Nico to sing with them in Chicago. I really didn't believe it was a possiblily. I figured the special guest was Nel, she was down front with us before the show, taking pictures, and generally being the Mama Hoon we all know and love.
But toward the end of the set, Travis goes "Ok, you guys ready for a really special guest? Lets welcome Nico Hoon everyone."
And there she was, wearing an old school Blind Melon t-shirt, she comes out on the stage. Everyone just lost their shit. even the band members. Travis sat down on the stage as they started Change and Nico was front and center. And she sang the shit out of it. I can't even describe it. I have video. I won't be able to post it tonight, but I will. She also joined the band again for No Rain.
Nel came out on stage after they came back for the encore- beofre Mouthful - and said some really nice words about Travis. Something like "I couldn't have picked a better person to take Shannon's place in this band." I can't remember exactly, but i have it on video. People were crying, jumping, yelling. It was unbelievable. I can't stress it enough. Tonight was the most amazing musical concert i have ever been to. a true family affair with a shitload of forum members in attendance.
Afterwards, i just went up to each of the guys ( I think they are starting to recognize me) just to give them each a hug and thank them. Tonight was something different all together. Wow. Wow. wow.
I have so much more to say. I will get to it. I will get the vids posted at some point tomorrow.
This thing is unbeliveable.
Providence was incredible, NYC was awesome, tonight was just something else all together.
For of us going to Pittsburgh you can expect to see Nel there as well.
Can't process anymore thoughts right now.
Peace, love, and Blind fucking Melon.

Lurkers adds 2¢.
I was just telling someone about this show which in all honesty I was prepared to be disappointed by... and "religious" is exactly how I described it .
Early in the show Travis began introducing the "special guest" too soon and it was endearing to hear him shout an embarassed "FUCK" and then to have Brad back him up by stating that this was "some really heavy stuff for Travis"...
I must admit that I am now a believer ofthis new incarnation of Blind Melon. Travis not only has the skills to pull off the songs but also has the same respect for his predecessor as his audience.

I still can't believe it and I was there. I am in the process of uploading a decent recording of the whole show. There will be better recordings to come, I saw a lot of equipment there tonight.
