Talked to the guy who books the shows at The Basement. He said doors are at 7, Dusty Rhodes plays at 8:30 and Blind Melon plays at 9:30. I asked him to rope off an area right in front of the stage for me but he just laughed.

I hope Nel loves the show!! I'm sure that when she hears the crowd singing along to her son's songs, she'll feel proud.

I think she'll be happy when she sees the shirts that have the quotes about Shannon on the back.

I'll post much, much more after I've had a few hours sleep. I was there when Nel got there and it was a HEAVY scene. I was talking to Glen when she showed up and they hugged and she said, "I swore I wasn't going to cry" and then she cried on Glen's shoulder. They all went to the bus while I stayed behind. Colleen apparently talked to Nel quite a bit on the bus for the documentary. Travis had Nel come on stage during the show and the sold-out crowd went NUTS. Before Blind Melon took the stage, Nel was taking pictures left and right with people - she was quite the celebrity She came back out on stage a second time later in the set - it was one of two times during the show that I nearly started crying (the second time was during "Mouthful of Cavities"). The show, as you might expect, was incredible (though the venue was less than stellar - I've been there before and never had a problem but I've never been there for a sold-out show). Okay ... sleep beckons ... more later.

they played Walk! travis busted right into it after one of the songs travis was playing acoustic guitar on (i believe it had to be "Change" "Sometimes" or "Wishing Well" but i'm not sure which one it was...
we we're standing right next to chris while they played "walk" and I mimicked the harmonica with my hands up to my mouth gesturing "why aren't you ripping it up?" and he leaned over and said "this is a surpirse to me, i didn't know they we're gonna do this one!"
it was great. the setlist was pretty much the same as the one listed for the other shows, but I'm pleased to see we were treated with a little surprise... by the way, Travis kicked mucho glutus maximus. He actually stage dove during soak the sin!! it looked like he took a pretty good fall when he was pushed back onto the stage but after laying on the floor for about 30 seconds to recover he got back up and they finished the final jam.
And although only half of the new melon songs really get me going, i'm still really excited and looking forward to how this band will finally get to evolve into what it should have been in the past!
Travis is insane, he sticks his head between two of Glens Toms while they we're in the middle of a song... stage diving... i love this guy, can't wait for the next one. peace. -J

Awww, Look at Nel! She is wearing Shannon's necklace. I hope she had a wonderful time, I know it must have been so emotional for everyone. I would love to hear Walk live.....I hope Pittsburgh gets a nice surprise too! ;D
