The Duke Can they do it? Brad on backups? WOW
this is like choosing one scene to watch from your favorite movie... I always listen to this as a complete album. Any song from this album is a perfect choice.

Gosh, no love for New Life? Sad. That song is so poignant and ironic in the light of Shannon's passing, God rest his soul. I was almost balling at the end of the Letters From a Porcupine DVD when that song was playing and they were talking about Nico Blue. But alas, I also voted for St. Andrew's Fall-- especially if they could get that cello player Miles Tackett to play with them again. ...I hear that guy's a Coca-cola drinker, not a Pepsi drinker

I voted for Mouthful, Just because i have never heard it live and think that it would be a great song live. Had a tough time deciding between that and Duke, Duke is such an energy filled song when played live. ItsNotSane

I'd like to hear Travis sing The Duke. I've always loved that song, and I think Glen mentioned something about noticing Travis' power-house voice while giving that one a go in rehearsal. I thought this would be the hardest album to vote on, but it was actually made easier by the fact that it's my favourite and I'd rather keep Shannon's versions running through my head on most of the songs. Thanks for the great polls Meredith! Seumas

A_Porcupine, I love New Life as well, but for me it just wouldn't seem quite right for someone else to sing that one: it is so very personal. I know most of Shannon's writing was, but this one's different because it's between him and his G.F. (Lisa, right? I've always wanted to meet her).

I voted for 2x4. Toes Across the Floor and St. Andrew's Fall were very close though. And it is really a big shame, that such a great song as New Life still have 0 votes!
