Thanks for letting me know about Hallmark, Sonya. I always forget about that store because the only one we have here is in the mall, which I avoid at all costs. lol.
I will have to go there after Christmas though, definately.

You might check online and see if they are selling the fairies this year...it would suck if you had to deal with the mall and they didn't have them.

We just put ours up last night. We've been using tha same fake tree for over a decade, but this year I suprised the chitlins with a real one. the smell that it leaves in the living room makes me think of when I was a wee lad.

Joel, is it cause you don't have this habit in sweden or it's just your family that doesn't do it?

You are so early with all these Christmas things. My family usually buys Christmas tree a day before Christmas Eve.

Yes, I find it early too but I wasn't sure if it's just my family that does it later or it's normal here. But I think it's normal cause for now I don't see other people decorating either.
Joel, my family isn't much into Christmas decorating either but when I was a kid they did because of me I guess. When I grew up and wasn't home much anymore they usualy just decorated a branch and hang it somewhere...

I think it`s funny cos some families don`t know when to stop..They decorate waaaaay too much. You can see their house from space.Enough is enough...

In America it's gotten pretty bad because as soon as Halloween is over all of the stores haul in their Christmas merchandise. It seems like every year they push it back earlier and earlier trying to get people to start buying stuff 2 months ahead of time. Everything in America is so commercial during the holidays. They want you to get in the Christmas spirit so you start spending all of your money at their stores. There were people in my neighborhood who had their Christmas lights and decorations up before Thanksgiving...I thought that was crazy! I still had my porch decorated with pumpkins and autumn flowers and my neighbors were all decked out with Christmas. Plus I live in the south so it certainly didn't feel like Christmas when the weather was still 80 degrees in mid-November. Now I have my Christmas decorations up and I guess I'm the tacky one because my pumpkins are still sitting on the front steps! Usually I like to have all of my decorations taken down around New Years so I put the stuff up in early December so I can enjoy it for a month before I have to put everything away again. I think it's very interesting that the European customs are different than American customs.
