Brief History:[/u] Amy Correia met Christopher Thorn at Cafe Sin-e in the East Village in New York City. During their meeting, Thorn did his best to convince her to head back to Seattle with him and record a demo. Taking his advice, Amy moved to the west coast and began production. After recording the demo, Capital Records snatched her up. In the year 2000, "Carnival Love" was released. ---------- For more information about Amy Correia, please visit her website: Amy Correia's WebsiteOr, visit her on MYSPACE. I dig her voice. I just checked out her myspace and some of her vocals have a little bit of a Norah Jones-y quality to them.
edit: I really like that song "Devil And I". I prefer the sound of just her and an acoustic to the stuff that has a full band.

I hear a little Joan Osborne in her voice, myself...

She definitely has a soulful voice which I can absolutely appreciate.
The only Joan Osborne song I know is the "What If God Was One Of Us" song so I really don't know enough of her sound to be able to compare the two.

One of my fav's is Crazy Baby. Matt could probably send you that song, maybe I could too I guess, I think I have your email That song actually makes me cry. I tried singing it in Matt's studio last year. It's not really finished though, and she's a tough act to follow! Anyway, I dig Amy Correia too!

Yea, Crazy Baby is a really good, sad song... Pensacola is probably my favorite Joan tune... www.myspace.com/joanosborneIt doesn't have either song on it... But, still cool.

my favorite artist of this genre, been listening to her since the first album came out, looking forward to a new release. Hey sonya she happens to be coming to NC 27 Jun 2007 8:00 Evening Muse Charlote, North Carolina
I don't know if thats near you but I've always wanted to see her live but she never comes anywhere near the midwest, though she said she would try via myspace though that was a while ago.

Charlotte is probably 3.5 hours from me. If it were a weekend show instead of on a Wednesday night it would be different. Too bad she's not coming to Raleigh.

I told Amy about this section... She visited our forum and was very thankful! She also said that the day she met Christopher was a life-changing day. She even kept the little piece of paper that Christopher wrote his phone number on for her. She said that Christopher is an excellent person and musician.
