hmm i have never heard of the book or the movie till now.I should probaly read the book first because that trailer looks very interesting.I just hate that fact that it is coming out in august when it is already made rather than comnig out in like May or June.

After that they gotta add all the special effects and then edit it after that.

Actually its fine for kids, nothing too graphic, gory, no naughty nudity. There were some young boys in there with their parents probably 10 or 11 and they really enjoyed the movie. It is PG13, but I didn't see anything really bad. It was pretty damned good. I can't stop thinking about it! DeNiro was awesome!

It has an amazing cast though.... and I may not be able to read it first. Would I be missing out in a big way if I didn't go for the book first?

I say go see it first, then read the book. There are some changes.....my boyfriend never read the book and said it was the best film he has seen this year! Its getting compared to the Princess Bride by the critics.
