and speaking of blood diamond... does Leonardo DiCaprio's shitty accent kill it? That's what I'm afraid of.

The Departed was great up until the last 15 minutes when the director said, "how about we kill off every single character in the movie, and i mean every single character!!!" I thought that scene when the whole bloody cast go wiped out was probably the worst ending to a movie ever...
Leonardo Di Caprio has a brilliant Sth African accent, you are fully convince he is Sth African, only in the scenes when he is shouting or really tired you can hear a bit of american accent... He not only a pretty face, but probably the best actor (along with Johnny Depp) in the last 10 years... Basketball Diaries, the Beach and even in The Departed (shame about the movie) to name a few of his great acting performances...

Little Miss Sunshine was good, Steve Carrell had a totally different role than what I am used to him having, I loved that movie.

Steve Carrell is amazing... i was checking him out on the net and he is over 40 years old, and he is basically a new-comer to the screen... i know he has been on snl, but it really makes you wonder how his talents were gone unnoticed 5+ years ago... i think he used to do a lot of stage...

I absolutely LOVED Little Miss Sunshine! I agree that it's the best movie of the year. It reminded me of Slums of Beverly Hills which is another must-see dark comedy. Steve Carrell was brilliant in Little Miss Sunshine...but I pretty much think he's brilliant in anything he does. I did like how this movie was an entirely different role that what he typically plays. My favorite part of the movie was when they finally got to the pageant and she did her little dance. FUCKING GENIUS! I loved how they movie implied that there was no difference between her routine and the rest of the little girls' routines and what a double standard it was. All of their routines were selling the same thing but in a slightly different way. Having the pedophile in the audience was brilliant! It was the perfect slam against children's beauty pageants. Shana you were right, the Grandpa stole the movie...he was a trip! I'm definitely going to buy this one on dvd to add to my collection.

Everone I know is talking about this movie, I really need to check it out. And for all the fact fans out there it's the movie directorial debut of the dream team which are Jonathon Dayton and Valerie Faris, otherwise known as the amazing directors of several Red Hot Chili Peppers videos, especially the superb Otherside!
