Yes, this is a very sophisticated, yet simple way of living. I don't label myself with any particular religion, but I am very spiritual and open. I have a great buddist meditation kit that is very eye openning, and powerful.
I'd love to hear about anything new you come across with this. I love anything with a core focus of finding peace-- if only just for myself.
Thanks for bringing it up Gelf!

I feel the same way...I'm not any particular religion but I love the core values of Buddhism! I am currently reading Lama Surya Das "Awakening the Buddha Within"....so far its pretty good, I don't know too much yet and I think this book will really fill me in. I am really wanting to learn about meditation but I don't want to skip too far ahead.

I've studied it a little bit. I don't consider myself to be any one religion but I seem to identify with that one the most. It's very spiritual and peaceful.

I don't know too much about buddhism, but the one idea or way of thinking from buddhism that I whole-heartedly agree with is the notion that much of our suffering in life is caused by our own wants and desires. Could any religion really argue with that idea?

In one of the Blind Melon videos, there is black and white footage of the band on an airplane, and Rogers holds up a book, titled something like, "The Happiest Man in the World." I wonder if he's a buddhist or just interested in buddhism?

I wonder if he's a buddhist or just interested in buddhism? That's a good question. He seems to me like an extremely intelligent guy who is open to concepts that involve higher thinking.

I've read up on it before, and it's a really peaceful way to live your life.

I think most Americans would have a hard time living the Buddhist minimalist approach to life. It takes a lot of discipline to live that way.

I have the book "The Tibetan Art of Living" written by Christopher Hansard. It's a very good book. I also have a small inspirational book called "A Gift of Inner Peace" written by Gill Farrer-Halls which I read everyday, it talks a lot about karma and has many quotes like this one "Even if we are materially poor we can still offer the gift of kindness". It helps me get through dark times.
