It's just sad. I feel bad for all the kids who watched him. He seemed like a genuinely nice guy.

What a Huge loss for Worldwide Conservation. He was making a documentary on The Great Barrier Reef, which is dying in a number of ways.He probably wanted to show how harmless sting-rays actually are & how they get a bad rap by being related to sharks, which is true, and then, well it got him.A freak accident.

Did anyone see the memorial service? How sad was it when his daughter was reading her speech? It really made me sad.

It was really sad. I didn't really care for him but I think that he did great work. It's just so tragic when anyone young, especially one with children, dies. It just makes me wonder.

Well, i Know i may get bagged but here is where i stand. I respect him so much for what he did. He boosted Aussie Tourism heaps, but when you have a job like his maybe there is a chance that you will die young, He did handle all types of deadly animals...

That is a perfectly valid point geoffygee. Of course there is a certain risk involved in this type of profession and I'm sure he was well aware of it. Am I glad that he died so young? Absolutely not. I think it's a shame.
