We camp with Dead drummer Bill Kruetzmann and his wife at the Oregon Country Fair. He is a very nice man. My 5 year old daughter plays hand drums with him. I showed her my Dead albums later and explained that The Grateful Dead was her friend Bill's band. She asked if she was in the band! I told Bill about it later and he said "Yes , she's in!" So my little girl is a unofficial member of the Grateful Dead! At least every summer at the OCF! NO RAIN is on his IPOD! They were scolded for only the one song and I am in the process of getting his family some more! thats great!!! your daughter is a lucky girl ;D

Hey Tincherfest '08 melons (and all other music lovers of course ) the Phil Lesh&Friends show is up on bt.etree.org: bt.etree.org/details.php?id=519113&viewcomm=378878#comm378878Can't wait to hear it. I never really listened to them before I went to the show so I wonder if I'll be tripping now only listening to it, since I was there and it was one of the best shows I've been to! What an incredible time it was!!! I also wish I could get in touch with that guy Ryan, he was awesome but we didn't get a chance to exchange emails. Greg or anyone, do you have an idea where I might find him? A good Phil Lesh&Friends or Allman Brothers message board maybe?

Sorry...I didnt realize you had posted this barb....i especially didnt know that there are people stuck....I have relaunched the torrent on my end so I am seeding this one some more If anyone needs a copy...hit me up I'm seeding the whole time but I have a firewall problem. I'm living with my parents now, they have a PC and they don't know much about computers so I think a friend of theirs set up a different firewall which now causes problems with torrents. I would have to look into their computer but since I'm using a mac, I know basically nothing about firewalls... so anway, I'll keep seeding as much as I can. it works, but very very slowly. Thanks for helping out Greg (in the name of all the leechers )! If anyone wants a copy, I'll be happy to share too.

Just finished listening to Shakedown street. I forgot what a great song "If I had the world to give" is.

"Brokedown Palace" has been in constant rotation for me lately. ;D It's the first Grateful Dead song I ever got into back in high school. Greg brought my attention to this awesome version of Phil Lesh and Jackie Greene performing it. "Brokedown Palace" Fare you well my honey Fare you well my only true one All the birds that were singing Have flown except you alone Goin to leave this Broke-down Palace On my hands and my knees I will roll roll roll Make myself a bed by the waterside In my time - in my time - I will roll roll roll In a bed, in a bed by the waterside I will lay my head Listen to the river sing sweet songs to rock my soul River gonna take me Sing me sweet and sleepy Sing me sweet and sleepy all the way back back home It's a far gone lullaby sung many years ago Mama, Mama, many worlds I've come since I first left home Goin home, goin home by the waterside I will rest my bones Listen to the river sing sweet songs to rock my soul Goin to plant a weeping willow On the banks green edge it will grow grow grow Sing a lullaby beside the water Lovers come and go - the river roll roll roll Fare you well, fare you well I love you more than words can tell Listen to the river sing sweet songs to rock my soul

Wow, that was sweet! Jackie Green sure does have a voice that is similar to Jerry's. . . Man, I cannot say enough good things about Jackie Greene singing Jerry's songs. He was singing for Phil & Friends when we saw them last month and he just blew me away. I never thought I would enjoy hearing Jerry's songs being sang by another person, especially after hearing Warren Haynes sing so many of them (Warren's great in the Allman Bros., but I just don't like him singing Dead songs), but Jackie just rocks - he sounds enough like Jerry to pull it off, but he's got his own soulful style that is mixed in with it. He kinda sounds like Bob Dylan a little bit too (and looks like him), and I don't even dig Dylan's voice, but I dig the fact that Jackie Greene has that "Dylan" vibe happening too. In fact, I seriously think he may be Dylan's illegitimate son. Anyway, I'm glad you checked out that video and enjoyed it.

maybe Greg sent me this link as well. cause i watched it (or found it) about a week ago. it's pretty sweet. seems to me there we are couple more from that session. Jackie sings w/ much ease! it doesn't get better than stripped down to acoustic tunes, eh

Greg probably put it up on your Facebook. That's where he showed it to me. He finds the best stuff.
