I've just been working on the same few that I have been working on. Yesterday I copied a bunch of tabs from websites to my computer so I can print them out and practice. I probably have 10 new tabs to try.

see my pic hoon4lifenlove? it's called a weisenborn. Ben's is custom made...it's an acoustic instrument that he had put an electic pick up in it as well as an acoustic one. He can select each pick up, or have them complement eachother. Ben was schooled at a young age, how to put together various instruments. His grand parents owned a music store. and Ben grew up working there. here's a link for ya... benharpertablatures.free.fr/famille/charles2.htmhis grand parents seemed cool eh?! oh yeah, i dunno if it's the same w/ all Weisenborns, but at least in Ben's the Whole neck is hollow as well as chambers in the body...gives a cool resonating sound. His slide work is something else!!

yeah, i've tried playing some of his solos w/ my acoustic on my lap as well. you are right it doesn't sound the same.
I think there are a few factors and the biggest is the Weisenborn's action(distance from neck to strings) is much much higher!! that elminates the clanging sound of the slide to the frets. Many player who use lap guitars also use different tunings. I think the richness of his slide wortk comes from the action, as well as the hollow neck. Plus his playing is just plain smooth Yo!

paper scratcher thats the one i was thinking of... so when he plays that song does he press hard on the strings, considering its electric and also do u hit the same part of the fret as you would if u played with a finger

hey Sonya, that stuff u got of Ben and Jack. Did it have the two of them W/ the Toots and the Maytals do'n pressure drop? No! I haven't finished watching it from beginning to end but I'm pretty sure that's not on it. Awesome! I had seen something where he was collaborating with Pete Townshend. I haven't heard it yet. Here's where the dl is: www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=139274

Women in You was one of my fav. songs when i first got into Ben. It's definitely one of my favorites so far. I don't think Greg digs the falsetto vocals too much but maybe they will grow on him. Is that possible? It's all fresh to me right now. I feel spoiled that there's so much out there to choose from. I like how they jam out with this one a bit. I love the "half a man" part too. ;D Powerful!
