thougth id better add my bit to this thread.. i once loved G'n'R too, oh how i adored them,, i too had all teh posters, t-shirts, adn my room was covered in axl pics, all teh videos, i would watch over and over adn dream.. got to see them in melbourne with skid row ( who were my other fave band at the time) ahhh how i look back and laugh at myself, my mother always said id grow out of them and i swore i would never.. i would die loving them.... i just think they did what they needed to do for me back then, but that was it, i grew up and grew out of love with them, but im pleased to say that my love for BM is as strong as ever.. ( and of course pearl jam, the greatest band in the entire world) ... i kinda feel embarassed for loving axl back then.. he really is a twat isnt he

he really is a twat isnt he This seriously just cracked me up. Gotta love Axl's antics! I'm with you on the growing out of it thing. Their music was relevant to me at one point in my life but nowadays I never listen to it. I kind of got fed up with all of the Axl drama. There are some songs I will still listen to if I hear them on the radio but I never converted my GnR cassettes over to cd if you know what I mean. I think they were an influential band and deserve their place in rock history. I respect them musically, it's just not so appealing to me anymore. I don't want to offend any GnR fans. I always credit Blind Melon with being the first good band I listened to...I consider it that way because for me personally it's the first band that I still listen to and love as much as I did 13 years ago when I started listening to them. Soon after I got into Blind Melon came Smashing Pumpkins, Alice In Chains, Tori Amos, Jane's Addiction, Pearl Jam, Nirvana. I still listen to those bands. Anything I listened to pre-Blind Melon sort of fell by the wayside. They opened up a new way of listening to music for me.
