I was fooling around in Photoshop, and I thought I'd share this one with you all. Best if Used by 1983. . .

Damn right we should!
I'll start a picture folder for the compilation and save that one.

Thanks Gelf and Matt! If anyone had seen me taking pictures of a pickle jar, they probably would think that I'm crazy! But not my melon friends - they think it's cool!

Oh, I was wondering what's the connection between the cucumbers and melons, if you call them melons too or what! And then I was wondering about the meaning of that 1983 and wanted to ask about it and when I pronounced in my head 1983 in english this melody came in my head "...since 1983..." and everything became clear. Anyway - that's great!!!!

There's not much of a connection that I know of. I just made these Blind Melon-branded jar of pickles. I don't think I'll ever know where Shannon came up with the pickle/1983 lyric - my guess is that it was pretty random. . .

Now I saw that that's the tittle of the thread, I didn't really read it! I'm like bums, I'm still sleeping two hours after I woke up and if I didn't sleep enough, it can take more haha

Oh yes, I agree, but at first I didn't even get the connection with the lyrics! And didn't know what pickles were anyway, just checked it out on babelfish translation

Another guess...maybe Vernie did that (pickles), Shannon's talking about her having a garden, maybe she really had one and then put some vegetables in those glasses?

I know that when I think of grandparents, I think of how they always use to save things. They would never throw anything away. They didn't like to waste things.

I always pictured Shannon visiting grandma and seeing what she had to snack on.....when he opened the cupboard he saw these old pickles and had to laugh because like Matt said....grandparents never throw anything away....pickles can actually last for a really really long time!

Maybe I need to put this jar of pickles into a cupboard (background). . .
And yes, I would agree that many grandparents save things. It was probably the depression, or just more frugal times in general. . .

Adding a cupboard could be cool ideed. But then I would see it with plenty of pickles, maybe you could just multiply the one you made. Just an idea.

awww yes I have seen Vernie's garden and it's beeeeautiful. and she is indeed such a sweet, sweet soul. I have a bracelet she made for me, Shannon likes to wear it because it has lots of different colours. She made bracelets for some of the melons that had to travel a long, long way to get to the 2004 Vigil. I'm not sure how many of you know this but thought I'd share it anyway. The line "Peanuts in a pile" from Vernie, actually refers to Vernie's dog Peanut, who sadly died a couple years back
