They can be a handful sometimes, like I said I take care of 3... The oldest is a 9 yr old boy, a 5 yr old girl and a 21 month boy. #heart#

I was a mental health worker until I could no longer handle it, so I turned a hobby into a home business and now design and sew custom curtains and blinds, not making much money yet but loving it!!!

Just thought i'd update you all....I havent quit.......yet.
As much as i yearn to be a quitter, or quitress....i am more of a big fat chicken....
So heres the story:
I haven't quit my job because.......
...Basically i went to the office to tell trevor (my boss) that i've quit....
I was shitting myself because i knew i'd be in for such a bollocking for taking more than one day off this month AND not calling in.
So anyhoons, i went in there...and it was surprisingly empty! I guess they've been firing alot of people this week. So i went to my desk and took my shannon pictures off the wall (god bless him) and walked upto the desk and waited patiently untill trevor had finished talking to some people.
And then he was surprisingly pleased to see me and nice to me... so i told him i havent been in since last wednesday because i have been ill and i wasn't able to phone in sick because i lost the phone number.... (which isn't too far from the truth, i was rather drunk last week)
And he (much to my surprise) said:
"Thats ok dear, take a seat"
And i was just about to tell him that i quit when he (rudely) interrupted me by saying:
"And you're not working today are you??"
....Like thats what he was expecting me to say.....
So i said to him "Errr i can't im still unwell"
He replied:
"Well you're here now"
And fuck knows why, but that damn goody goody two shoes side of me slipped out of my mouth and i said:
"Well see, i thought i would at least do you the decency of coming in to tell you im ill, since i havent phoned in, i thought you should know why i havent been in...and i would work today but ive taken alot of painkillers and might fall asleep in here"
(Damn i really thought i had gotten rid of my goody goody two shoes side of me that night i drank a litre of vodka to myself and decided to be a bohemian for the rest of my life, then stumbled home with no shoes on at 6am)
Soooooo anyhoons, he was like:
"Oh thats ok dear *crosses me off todays register* i'll write down my phone number for you and if you need to call in sick, just do so, ok...get better soon"
Fuck, i even did the whole puppy eyed pale faced "im ill" look aswell.
I'm such a cunt.
OOOOH THE SHAME OF IT.
I chickened out of quitting my job, like a big fat chicken. MMmmmmm i could really eat chicken right now though.
I'm quite hungry.
OOh and i went to my local library where i used to be a geek and do all my homework everynight back in the days before i discovered teenage rebellion, and i talked to the woman in there for like an hour and i told her about my art...the paintings ive been working on....and she kept saying how brilliant i am.
You hear that....im brilliant.
I'm brilliant and i'm a brilliant artist, im just all round brilliant, im just a brilliant person.
Brilliant.
NER NER!
Yeah....FUCK YOU Pablo Picasso you boring cunt. (I wish he were alive and i were a famous artist, i'd bop him right in his big fat spanish square nose)

Thought this might be interesting to revive for those who haven't posted already or those who have had career changes.
Well, I wish that I had an intesting job but I work in the administrative office for the county parks and recreation system. We have 32 parks, 6 golf courses, a marina, etc. and we teach a bunch of classes too. I work in the Accounts Receivable office so basically all revenue comes though my happy little hands. I do all the invoicing, collections, banking, etc.
However, the only interesting thing about my job is when a skeleton is found or someone kills themself in one of our parks. It seems that we have a disproportionate number of deaths in the parks. I have made our unofficial slogon "Monmouth County Park System - We plant more than trees"
Yeah, it's not too interesting but it pays the bills. So what does everyone else do?

I worked my way up in a Manufacturing/Stamping Plant for 15 yrs.starting in 91.I was able to program and servive a GMF robot & a Hobart Robot. They sent me to Robotron in Southfield Mi. so I could do that.At the same time, 6months after I started, they made me Line Leader for 12 spot welders & a few welders that used dies. Then I started setting dies for 200 & 300 ton Open Back Iclineables every once in awhile so I could learn to run that Dept. also.I stayed on the Afternoon Shift for about 6yrs. as a line leader/die setter for the Weld dept. & The Robots mostly. Then A Day Shift position for Die Setter/Line Leader/Supervisor opened up on the O.B.I. line,so I took it.Eventually I got my own die setting crew & I was able to slip into the Supervisor Role easily. But It was not easy getting to that point.I had a vision & they had a vision for me.Being a Supervisor but also getting in there & getting Dirty helped me get a loyal top notch crew that kept improving. It was not easy when I had to fire someone,so I usually had the plant manager with me at first to help me with that. Then the car accident happened that cracked my skull & laid me up for awhile but I came back just as good at my job as I always was. Then the 2nd car accident happened about a year later & I cracked my skull again, they said it was a hairline fracture & some Blood had built up behind my eardrum.Again I came back to work & was able to do my Job just fine.Even running other Depts.for people on Vacatons. To shorten the story up a bit.Over the course of the next few years,I was being prescribed Medications for Manic-Depression,Paranoia,insomnia & anxiety.Eventually I could not do everything I was being paid to do but they made it really easy for me.They even gave me a job title that they made up.I was the midnite oiler assistant for awhile.I'm not working now.I'm getting paid 3/4 of my paycheck not to work. That's awesome.I get Money for my kid also so things have been going good so far into my(retirement?) MELONS RULE!
