I stole this from another forum.I`m just curious.
I never go to church. In my whole life i`ve been there twice.Once with school, after 20min of nagging from my teacher i agreed to go in and then four years ago when a friend of mine died.
If this has been done,sorry!.

Same, but as a person who hopes to do theology at uni, I really want to, if only to gain a greater understanding of Christianity. It's hard to know when to start, especially as a pagan, I don't feel I'd be particularily welcome at most churchs over here (90% fundamentalist, 5% catholic, a couple of Evangelicals, a Methodist & a Jehovah's Witness is all we have).
I used to go, to the Methodist one. When I was five I was given the choice, already disillusioned by the whole experience I declined to continue going. 'twas a mistake in retrospect, but I never would have known that then.

I don't have a specific religion anymore, but I wuold go to church/religious ceremonies if it were very important to someone that I be there. For instance, the funerals, weddings thing. I guess I would simply honor the person by not judging and be there for them how ever they needed me to be. you know, supportive.

I also sometimes go to churches to visit them...the architecture and "windows" art...the first time I stayed in Paris for a longer time, churches were also a place where I could find more peace than anywhere else in the city. So I sometimes kinda meditated there (I mean meditated in my own way...resting from all the city chaos...). I like the peaceful energy that is always in churches. This is probably also because they're almost always built on those natural positive energy spots. Well, I don't know if all this counts in "attending church" expression....

Oddly enough, i used to have to go 2-3 times a week and i went to a strict christian school right up untill my teens
Then i guess i got into public school and realised theres actually a whole other world out there
And i guess i kinda drifted really
Its mainly odd because my mum was a punk, but even so, she took religion seriously when i was a kid, but in a strange way, like she sent me to christian school and i had to go to church and read the bible etc etc But she used to also tell me stories of reincarnation, i guess she believes in alot of different stuff, like ghosts and out of body experiences and all that.... Before i went to school she used to tell me that when i die i turn into a fairy lol and i believed it...
I guess im gullable but i have very mixed views on religion i guess i could talk about what i believe for hours, and you still wouldnt understand in the end.
But other than that, i dont go to church anymore, i stopped when i was about 14, Slowly though, it wasnt a sudden thing, but eventually i had to stop suddenly because i was getting drunk and stoned and all that stuff that teens do I guess the people at the church i went to, because its so small ...didnt like that , mainly because they've known me since i was like 5 i guess and ive changed ALOT since then.
So once in a while i go there just to sit through an evening service.
Im not really sure why i do it, comfort i guess.

No never actually. Sometimes when I'm on a vacation I visit a cathedral or something, but that's just cultural interest.

I'm buddhist, or would like to be, it's new for me but I love it and part of the faith is being open minded and respectful of All religions. I used to be very "anti-God" mainly because that was considered the cool thing as a teenager...rebellion and anti-authority and all of that. Now I just try to be patient, tolerant, loving, compassionate and forgiving of everyone and be good to everyone. It's not easy, there are many tests, especially in Western society. But it's basically all about loving everyone equally and living a positive life. The cool thing about Buddhism is that the Dalai Lama says himself not to preach, not to force your views on anyone, be respectful of all other religions and don't be blindly led into any belief or religion. Be skeptical, ask questions and don't follow anything until you are comfortable that it is the right path. Anyway, the answer is No I don't go to church! Except for weddings and funerals...I was raised Anglican but it wasn't for me. Does melon count as a religion I'm part buddhist part melon! hehehe

But it's basically all about loving everyone equally and living a positive life. Yeah, if I would be an ideal person for me, I would be like that. But as you said it's not easy! Anyway, the important thing is doing your best and going towards it! I like buddhism too. I mean finally all the religions are very cool and close to each other, based on love within everyone, if you only stay in the real idea of it and forget about what instiutions made out of it... My mom's totaly in yoga and buddhism...or hinduism, not sure...I don't really know the difference...I think one of them is that in hinduism they have this "cast system" (I don't know the english word for it) and this isn't cool cause it doesn't allow to a person to follow her will, wishes, heart, in THIS life! Does melon count as a religion I'm part buddhist part melon! hehehe #thumb# #rock# do I have to say I'm in?
