I was in London this weekend for a school trip, yesterday I took a taxi to meet up with the rest of the group because I couldn't walk that far (on crutches as I am). On the way I see a recent car crash.
The ambulance is there, trying to resusitate a young girl, she couldn't have been much older than me. Unfortunately it didn't work, & I watched her die.
Something like that really messes with your head. I can't think of anything else since it happened. I can't pinpoint what I feel or think about it. It's just a thought.
This is probably one of those 'life-changing moments', since I've had a few of them brought about by much less poignant stimulus.
I didn't tell anyone, I just felt like saying it somewhere. Anyone got any thoughts or similar stories? Sorry to bring up such a morbid topic but I'm pretty sure it's not good for me to keep it inside.

I think that you should perhaps write a song or poem about this experience... I know if i were in your situation i would probably break down, even if i didnt know the poor girl, cause that is not the way to die, so tragic... Blind Melon turned one such experience into a song we know as "St. Andrew's Fall"...

I'm sorry you had to see that. Hope you had a good time though. Just like foreverlights I think you could write a song about it. By the way, I was in London too 2 weeks ago on a school trip. There are so many cabs! And the underground station is so complicated! Did you stay at Ashlee House maybe?

no we stayed in the travel inn on the southbank near London Bridge. It's a good thing there's alot of cabs, on the first night I walked for two hours to Picadilly Circus to buy some skunk (bear in mind the ligaments in my foot are torn), if it wasn't for the amount of cabs I'd never have got back to the hotel! The underground isn't that complicated, you just gotta get used to it.
I am writing a song about it, not about it, but including it. I'm using the title of this thread as the title of the song. It's generally about how big places intimidate me, being a small town boy myself. Whenever I go to big places I get depressed because the amount of people is just mindboggling, it's easy to get lost in a big crowd, it's very hard where I live, & you would never see anything like that death in Guernsey. 99% of people die in hospital & we've had one murder in 23 years (it was very recent though).
I'm not so emo azs to dedicate a whole song to it, but I will include it, as it is a rather important point.
On a lighter note I had a brilliant time in London, anyone ever seen Woman In Black at the theatre, it's quality.

I would love to read your song when it's done. I haven't seen Woman in Black, but I have seen Poseidon at the Imax cinema..man that screen is huge.

I was talking about theatre not cinema (you know the one where people act out the stories on a stage & no-one eats popcorn while you're watching).

Ive had a similar experience...
I had an upstairs neighbor who drank alot, I mean alot, and she had seizures and stuff, but she was such a nice lady, she was aways pretty friendly and she didnt have much, not even a phone, so we always let her use ours.
One night her brother pounded on our door about 3am, he found her layed out on the sofa and she wasn't breathing. We called an ambulance and they were asking all kinds of questions so we had to go up there and there she was on the sofa, vomit all over her face, she pissed herself and she looked pretty bad.
When the EMT unit came they asked my boyfriend to help lift her off the sofa, so they could check her vitals....the cop was already signaling his partner that she was dead.
I saw them wheel her out, with a sheet over her face, but I noticed her shoes.....they were those old style reeboks, and they were so white.....like she kept them so clean and new looking.... that image has never left me, never. I can close my eyes and see it perfectly every single time.
Its eerie and I can't describe how it makes me feel, but it has never left me.

Thats horrible.
Strange Strange life we're in, really.
Wierd how certain things stick out and sort of brand themselves into your mind...like you were actually supposed to see those small things.
Hmmm.
Anyways ive seen woman in black....it wasnt what i expected of it to be honest. But i heard i went on a night when the good actors werent there lol And i was drunk on beer and half falling asleep out of boredom in the theatre.

yeah people can be sick like that though when my neighbor died a few years back, someone went into his house and threw all his belongings into the streets
his family live in ireland, so i went out one night and picked up all his old marvin gaye tapes and i still have them, i thought id keep them incase his family ever came back or something.
i dont listen to the tapes though, i just keep them.
