Hey melons,
I will be down in sweet N'awlins for a week around Christmas. My first priority is to spend time with my family. My second priority is to eat lots of good food that Colorado just doesn't have!
But I also thought I would try and seek out anything that might be Blind Melon-related. This past summer when I was down there, I went down to the Quarter and found the old house that used to be Kingsway Studios.
In the trivia thread someone mentioned that the Hard Rock Cafe has a signed Blind Melon guitar, so I am going to have at least one meal at the Hard Rock so I can see that guitar. (locals hate the Hard Rock Cafe, and do not consider it to be part of the New Orleans culture) But I don't care, if there is something melon-related there, then I want to see it.
I know exactly where Tipitina's is at, but I don't know if I want a photo of that venue. It's too much of a bummer for me. I don't really want to see the parking lot where the bus was parked, y'know?
So beyond that I don't know what else to look for. It has crossed my mind that I could contact the Times-Picayune (New Orleans biggest newspaper) to see if they have any old articles or clippings about the band. Does anyone else have any ideas of relics that they might have left behind or places that they might have stayed during their time in New Orleans? Let me know if you think of anything. . . Thanks. . .

I think I heard there's Shannon's Woodstock dress in a Hard Rock but I don't know which one and I'm not even sure if it was Hard Rock...but IF it's in New Orleans, I'd sure love to see a pic of it!

Damn, if you were there on the 31st I was going to tell you to try and check out the Galactic show. Also, Dr. John is playing two nights at the House Of Blues but I think you'll be gone by then. I obviously checked out what shows were scheduled in hopes that you might get to attend some of them. Since I rarely get the opportunity to see shows (b/c I have little kids) I have to live vicariously through everyone else.

Hey thanks Greg! I just made it down here today. Thanks for the Cajun wishes for Christmas! It's raining right now, but I will try and get some pictures before I leave. I definitely want to get photos of those places that Glen mentioned. My trip got cut short by the blizzard in CO, so hopefully I will still have time to go get those shots while I am here.
I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas wherever you might be!

Howdy y'all ! ! !
I think I'll be goin' down to the Quarter today to get some pics (down this far in the quarter, I'm pushed hard upon the border). And the sun seems to be shining. You won't hear me complainin' if there's No Rain.
