Isnt Travis a fellow Texan? He should talk the guys into playing their first show back here so he'd feel right at home ;D If not, hopefully he will at least play a solo show here sometime soon? I would LOVE that!

Joel, you know they will definitely come to Europe! Then we'll all be jealous of you, Barb, Marika, Charles, and all the rest of the Europeans! Remember that it's much easier to travel around Europe than it is to travel around the U.S. You guys have your public transportation system together over there! And on the bright side, it gives you more time to save your money so you can go to ALL the European shows. Poor foreverlights all the way on the other side of the world in Australia! I hope you won't have to wait too long for a tour! I swear one of us needs to win the lottery so we can pay to have all the melonheads at the first show!

It`s easier to travel here..(?)..Huh,didn`t know that.. I hope you are right about the band coming here.If a gig is in the middle of the week that would be the best.Much much cheaper to fly somewhere during the week than it is on a friday or a saturday..Hopefully it won`t take too long before they decide to come greet us..How awesome wouldn`t it be to meet all the Melons from this forum at the same gig, rock out to Melon together.. #rock#

It`s easier to travel here..(?)..Huh,didn`t know that.. In America everything is SOOOOO spread out that it's not very convenient to do much but fly (which is expensive). In Europe the distance between big cities doesn't seem to be very far and you guys have a good rail system, right? We have a rail system (Amtrak) which is known for trains derailing all of the time and we have the Greyhound bus system but let's just say that a lot of unsavory characters travel via Greyhound. If I end up doing any touring on the east coast I'll drive but if I have to go to the west coast for the first show I'll fly. You guys also have a good hostel system for young people travelling...that never really caught on in America because it's so difficult to get between cities without your own personal vehicle unless you have a lot of money.

Driving is probably the best option, specially in America because gas is SOOO much cheaper there than in Europe.Plus then "you" decide where to go,what time and who`s coming along.

That was some interesting info sonya, thanks. What's "unsavory characters"? Driving is probably the best option, specially in America because gas is SOOO much cheaper there than in Europe.Plus then "you" decide where to go,what time and who`s coming along. I agree and I also heard it's very cheap to loan a car there, especially if you loan it from Slovenia (I mean while you are still here). Another thing I like about the idea of driving is that you can see A LOT of country while you drive. You can stop and visit places... This thread gives me mixed feelings. On one side, I soooooooooooooo want to do this! It's a total dream to me!!! To go to the first show and follow them aorund, woah! And on the other side, I feel like stuck here, no money and still no job Which is not very surprisng considering how I don't do much effort to find it #chair# I'm just so lazy lately and can't get myself to do all the things I need to do to find a job although on the other hand I can't wait to find it....yes, it's totaly paradoxal, lol. And even when I'll have a job, I still need to save so much money, grrrrr. Like charity said, I don't care much if I don't have money but when it comes to things like this I just hate it. Gonna take a breath and try, try again...

I have heard that too.To call and rent a car before you get there.I also heard that you can rent a car for free. For exampel..A car company needs to take a car from New York to Florida. You don`t have to pay anything except the gas.Just drive the care there..That would be really awesome and CHEAP!. Saving money ain`t so easy as i thought it would be..Somehow it always seems easier than it actually is..I have to grap myself in the neck and JUST DO IT!.. (Hah,i sound like Nike commercial)

Barb, unsavory characters are people who you would not feel comfortable or safe being around.

Oh God, dont even get me started on Greyhound!!!! After the 04 vigil, Kiwi, Emma and I all went on a mini roatrip via greyhound. We bought this 15 day pass where we could travel unlimited and it was pretty cheap. It's horrible though, the buses smell, the seats aren't comfortable and somehow the person sitting next to you always seems to be big and rude and they squish you against the window. Plus you always have to wait 3, 4, 5 hours to switch buses in places like Chicago (I cant begin to describe how many weirdos hang out at that station... I remember we were outside having a smoke and this old black man comes to Emma and says "hey you have a nice pussy" and just walks away #lmao# ) and it's just too exhausting. And yeah the weirdos! My last ride was from Chicago to Indianapolis and I sat next to this kid who was convinced we were three witches... lol wtf? Anyway, the point of this post is: to all you overseas melons, do yourself a favor and avoid Greyhound as much as you can!

I've never actually travelled on Greyhound, but I have been to the stations to drop people off and pick people up. Gabbee is 100% correct about the weirdos. Renting a car would be a much better and safer idea if you want to travel in the U.S. With some rental companies you get unlimited mileage and you can travel from state to state. You just pay for your rental fee and your gas. If you rent for extended periods of time you can get discounts too. Not all of the companies have that policy though, so you always want to check it out before committing to anything. You guys should think about flying over here and renting a car to travel in. I'm sure there are plenty of friendly melonheads (including myself) who would let you crash at their houses so you wouldn't have to pay for hotels.

Hey Melons!!
Amsterdam in the house!! Well I don't post much but I need to say that I am for sure at the front row at the first gig!!! Right now I am flat broke, but in January I collect some good crispy cash again and for sure I'll spend it on my flight and car-rental in the US.
It is a dream, just like the vigil 2004 to attend these Melon gatherings! The best would be to perform on the vigil stock, although I need to make choices then... hmmm hard ones...
Like, when they tour early 2007 I need to get to West Coast ( I don't know but I assume they start their tour in California...), or wait till September to be at the vigil, although unsure if the new melon will be there ( would be the best tribute ever though!!!!) plus I could kiss my pole heheh
And the other thing is.. we don't know when the Melons come to Europe... I can't believe they will do a European tour in 2007.
Anyway, I want to know, how many European Melons will go to US?? Please come along!!!
Can't WAIT!!!! And if any of the band members reads this, would it be possible to announce a bit more concerning your tour plans and itinerary. It makes it for European and other fans far away easier to make choices and arrangements where to attend your concerts!!! Although I understand many things are still insecure right now...
One thing is sure, the 2007 year will blow me away!! Bring it on!
Love and Melon tunes!
