I just found a new article for the collection, and I wanted to share this little section of the article with everyone. Can you imagine if Robert Plant thought your band kicked ass? That would be about the coolest thing in the world. Well check out what he said about Blind Melon: SLACK TO BASICS! RAW July 6, 1994NAME: Robert Plant AGE: 46 FROM: Birmingham OCCUPATION: Worldwide singing megastar ROBERT IS highly excited about da melon! “Absolutely brilliant! I’ve never seen them before, but they’re just amazing. They take the music off into uncharted places.” When I suggest that their twiddling can lose the plot a little, Robert is dismissive: “Nonsense. That’s what makes it so exciting. They really have what it takes. Are they playing anywhere else while they’re over here? I think they’re so good I have to catch them again.” And with a shake of his mane, the world's greatest Rock God departs! I'll have the complete article uploaded in the next day or so. It has a review of their show with Tripping Daisy at the Forum in London. box68.bluehost.com/~greenmid/blindmelonarticles.html

Hey Ryan is that the 1994 show they did at the forum? If so i remember an article i sent you where Paul Rees (from Kerrang) really has a go at Blind Melon and Shannon's singing on that night, which was the biggest attack ive seen on the band... If its good enough for Robert Plant, then Rees must have so much sand in his vagina!!!haha what a dick!!! I think Robert Plant has a bit better knowledge of what is good music than some loser critic...

critics are people who can't "do" themselves.

There was also an interview in a Hit Parader magazine where Plants comes right out and says "Blind Melon is my favorite new band".

Hey foreverlights, this article definitely has a review of their show at the forum, but it's from RAW magazine. The writer is Howard Johnson, and he says good and bad things in his review. He is mostly upset that Shannon and Rogers cut their hair. whatever. . .

Didn't Rogers say once that Led Zeppelin should have been credited on their first album b/c they ripped them off so much? I guess they did a pretty good job of it if Robert Plant was so impressed. It's no mistake that people like Robert Plant and Robert Hunter recognized their talent...Blind Melon's music really is classic and influential.

I saw Robert Plants first two tours after he solo'd in the 80's.
