My guess is that he wants it for the money, he probably thinks he can sell it back to the band or the reord label or anyone else willing to pay top dollar for it, he obviously doesn't care about the site or have time to maintain it anymore. Maybe he will let Rogers have it after seeing the petition, or maybe he will be willing to work something out, I don't know. I hate the way things go sometimes. The domain he registered thru probably sent him a warning email reminding him to renew his ownership, the one I use for this forum usually updates me every 4 months letting me know when it expires. So what does everyone think? Send him the petition now or get more signatures?

My domain registration automatically renews itself. Hopefully he doesn't have that option checked.
Wouldn't hurt sending him the petition now. I'm curious to see what he says.

i agree, ride him hard now....dont wait untill the last min. cause if he says no and renews it were fucked, so this way if he says no we can have to time to fire back.

Well....here is how it is going, I want to respond but I'm not sure how at this point, maybe some of you can come up with some good replys to this. First I emailed him and told him about the Petition and here is his reply: and here is my response back, I had quoted what Rogers said so he knew the band was actually interested: and here is his reply: Now I think he is being a bit nasty, why can't he give the domain up? Its going back to the band....who cares what they do with it to be honest? What should I respond back with? How should we pursue this from here?

Sorry, the more I think about this the more pissed off I get. I definately want to point out to him that he is being selfish, he definately is thinking of what HE wants, not what over 400 fans want, not what's good for the band...... what is wrong with this guy?

no matter what we will say, he doesn't want to give the domain to its rightfull owners and has stupid arguments to justify his position at least someone knows what the band really needs... always ask a question when you don't want to make an answer! this guy is terrible! thanks for the lesson Mark, you've opened my eyes That's a website made by capitol records not by blind melon Blind Melon doesn't care about Blind Melon... it's getting better and better so what? who do you think you are? OMG! nobody knew think of you as a $*)&, everything is moving around you and you are still a $*)&

I think he thinks we are stupid, or high, or something..... I clearly asked him what it would take, he didnt even mention a price, the guy seems almost sick. Why is he so scared to let go?

i have came to the coulution he just likes the attetion, as i sit here and think about this makes me what to grab rogers and make him take this asshole to court, cause he'll lose it in court and wont get his money back for it. i think rogers should very well threaten him with takin him to court. I know its alot of trouble but this ass whipe shouldnt have anything to do with blind melon, true blind melon fans would hand it over no questions asked. i dont get this guy. Gelf, i would just flat out tell him his site sucks, and its a shitty time capsle if thats what u call it. and no one even wants to look at it when they go to www.blindmelon.com you go there and see whats there and its like "oh this is it, thats pretty lame" for heaven sakes he dont even have all the lyrics to all the songs, thats pretty sad......and ITS NOTHING LIKE THE 90's!!!!!! BUT! i do understand what hes sayin the point of if they really wanted to make a site then they could use a diffrent domain name, i dont see why rogers doesnt just do that and everyone is happy it seems to me this is all more trouble then what its wroth, if shannon was still alive you know he would just go right to the douche bags house and kick his ass and laugh about it....i dont know....i think we need to talk to rogers and see where he stands on all this and what he thinks about on gettin a new domain name, im sure we can raise the money if he doesnt want to pay for it, im willin to pay for it and im sure theres many others who are as well, I and im sure the rest of u REALLY REALLY just want the site from the band and not this douche bag.....so i think we should try to contact rogers and see if thats a diffrent option we could do, i mean there is alot of others domain names we can use. thats just my guess lemon

I understand that part of it too, but as a fan of blind melon wanting to research the band what is the first web address you would type in? Where is the first place you would assume to find everything you need? OR an offical website? I mean what is he going to register? blindmelon2.com or blind.melon.com? I was all ready to start a fund raiser for the domain if Mark would have atleast named a price, and he wouldnt even do that. I think you are right about him wanting attention, I would love to see him get it taken away in court.

Something you said kind of got me to thinking. If Rogers had a new website built and say he named it . Then www.blindmelon.com might become available at a later date. It would be very easy to just pick that up when it becomes available and funnel the two url addresses to the same website. My company has done that when we have a special ad campaign - the theme of the campaign has it's own url address, but it goes to the regular company website. Lemonade I share your frustration. It would be great if we didn't have to deal with this guy. I would just encourage Rogers to start building a Blind Melon website on some sort of slight alteration like or something like that. Rogers mentioned some pretty cool stuff when he had posted here before. Maybe I am just eager for him to start putting that up on the web for us to see. But I do think it would be easy enough to bring the two websites together if www.blindmelon.com ever became available. It's one option among many. . .

i agree with bobafett about trying to begin an alternate site, but i still really want to see blindmelon.com go to rogers. Hopefully, if a blindmelon website is launched, then this guy will not be able to argue that "the band dosent care." the guy is obviously screwed up.

who owns www.blind-melon.com? I had read somewhere that it once was an "official" website. I don't know......I really would love something updated, something with news on the bandmembers other projects, vigil news, photo galleries, etc.... it would be so awesome.

i read somewhere that www.blind-melon.com is actually an unofficial site this is really unfair, that guy is driving me mad with his stupid sellfish behaviour i contacted him today to know why he doesn't want to let the domain go to blind melon as that's what he said he also said he won't open the board on www.blindmelon.com
