Blind Melon paid $750 a month at Kingsway Studio (which is probably ruined, as of last Monday's hurricane Katrina). Roger's thought it was a fair deal considering the shape of the roof.... per 'Letters' DVD

I thought that Rogers had his own place in New Orleans & that Kingsway Studios was where they recorded the album & where the rest of the band crashed.I don't know why I thought that,it's just how my fried brain works I guess.

^ I thought the same thing. $750.00 for his personal place "considering the condition of the roof". I would think Kingsway Studios was much more expensive.

OK, we're gonna have to ask family/friends if there was one home base or two in New Orleans. I thought one. On to my question: In November 1990 Blind Melon was just starting to play gigs outside of LA. One of their first was in Columbus, Ohio. Shannon did an interview with an OSU student for OSU's student paper "The Lantern". What was the guy's name that interviewed Shannon?

OMG!!! Bobafett and Charles are absolute genius Blind Melon trivia masters!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes the correct answer is Chip Midnight. Bobafett your turn. I too have a copy of the phone interview between Shannon and Chip, and thought it was right before they moved to SC. Shannon had said they were waiting for their place to be ready in Chapel Hill, SC. I'm so friggin impressed with you 2!!!!!!!!!!! Melon Love, Shanny

Hey Shannygirl,
I definitely did not know the answer to begin with. Thank God for Google.
Charles, I think what you read seems plausible enough. We have that game show called Jeopardy where you have to answer everything in the form of a question. So your comment made sense to me in that context.
Alright the next question - This one shouldn't be too difficult. Who was the producer on the Soup album?
