Ohhh, this just reminded me of something...once we were out with friends and partying and at one moment two friends were discussing about where they should put the drums or something (they were in a band and played that night) and someone said they should give them to a friend of mine and another guy said "and you trust him?" and the guy answered "yes, sure" and in that very moment my friend in question came by, screaming all drunk on a roof of a driving car (his friends were driving) it wasn't the best moment to convince someone they could trust him, lol #lol# #lmao# Perfect timing!

Can anyone fill me in on this? Where exactly does this happen and during what days?
I've been a Melon fan for ages now but I'm totally new to the community, so I never knew about this get-together and it sounds awesome!

Hey chchchase, first of all WELCOME TO THE FAMILY #smileyhug# The vigil is held once a year (on the Saturday closest to Shannon's birthday - Sept. 26) at the cemetary in Dayton, IN by his family, friends and fans. On Sunday a tribute concert is held in honor of Shannon's memory, that's what Vigilstock is. I recommend you try to come out on Thursday so you can spend some alone time at Shannon's and meet some melonheads and party a little at the hotel. Also don't make any plans to leave before Monday morning, you DON'T want to miss Vigilstock!!! Let me know if you have any more questions and check www.blindmelon.org/shannon and www.vigilstock.tk for more information

Oh awesome! thanks
Do you know if I can go visit it anytime? Or is it private, only opening public for that occasion?
Either way, I'm stoked about this. I'll definelly try to do it this year.

You can go anytime I think everyone should spend some alone time at his grave, it's an intense and undescribable (sp?) feeling... But the vigil is also so beautiful and intense in its own way... You meet so many beautiful people, everyone there celebrating his life... Do try to come, I promise you wont regret it

In my Opinon,
"Blind Melon" without Shannon Hoon is like the "Grateful Dead" without Jerry Garcia.
When the whole band decided to tour without their leader they did not try to use the original name. Without Jerry, they called themselves "The Dead"
End of Story, but I understand commercial publicity.
I just hope they can make music that is worth buying and I haven't heard any yet.
Yeah, you can call me a jerk if you like.
Oh well.
Peace

Mark, I recommend you get ahold of Karen (deadgirl333@yahoo.com), she's the one that puts the show together. The vigilstock site hasnt been updated in forever, but I do remember someone saying their band was going to play this year... I cant remember who though!?!?! #kos# #banghead#

Any Melons from Mass going? Looking for some people to caravan with, this would be my first vigil. I am also looking for anyone who may be making a trip anytime after the vigil, timewize I might now be able to go until after, but am looking to work something out. Any suggestions, my sweet melonheads?
