I know I may get crucified for this but...is it coming out on CD too?? Weirdly, I was playing BM this morning, listening to it skip all over the place thinking "I hope they release an anniversary remaster soon"

I was just about to write a long reply saying, amongst other things, "I told you so", "never liked him anyway" and "only listened to the album a few times, loved the music, but hated the voice", but it looks like a lot more people got there before me. As to not having the backbone to stand up and say these things before, well, there's a million melonheads that loved Travis and would pound you on your head if you said anything negative. For me, BM was always Shannon and the guys as one, and Travis added nothing.

How weird is this? Last time I saw BM was in the Mean Fiddler on Sep 8th just before Shannons death. Now they're back on the same day. My birthday!!!
The only really really really annoying thing is I can't go! Brothers wedding...

Mine was the morning of the GnR gig at Milton Keynes bowl and BM were supporting. I'd never heard of them and then suddenly I Wonder came on the telly. I thought it was rubbish at the time (it's a hard song to love first time!!), but when I saw them live, they blew me away. My girlfriend and I bought a copy of the CD each!

I think the old sound was different from the new sound no doubt, but I am diggin both and are excited about the new era of Blind Melon & hope they sell a million copies. But as far as some of the older songs that started off mellow or jazzy and then BUSTED OUT into a wild hard rock beat or tempo, I am not a fan of that at all and are glad to see the band getting away from that unorganized sound of music. Okay, I've had a few days to calm down, and I know this forum is a happy vibey place to be, but....."glad to see the band getting away from that unorganized sound of music" ? That IS Blind Melon!!! I have visions of a fan sitting through all 3 albums and going to see them thinking "one, day maybe one day, they'll become more organized!" How weird...

How weird is this? I listened to the album twice before doing my original post. I listened to it again this mornign and every song seemed to hit home. Suddenly everything connected and I can see what people are talking about.
I love Blind Melon part 1, always will. This sounds like a new band but with the same amazing Melon feel. Weird. I didn't expect to start liking it, maybe my brain needed a kickstart.
The only way I can desribe this whole process is losing your mum and then your dad getting a new wife ten years later. It's so hard to accept at first...

I've just downloaded the new album (and of course I'll buy it too, I just couldn't wait!!!).
Having listened to it a few times, I love some songs, tolerate some and can't stand a couple. Never had that with Blind Melon Version 1. I'm just not sure about the new sound, singer, songs etc.
So..I decided I needed some guidance and looked up some old posts on this forum and it looks like most people went through what I'm going through and eventually grew to love Travis, the new songs and accept this new album in the same way as the old stuff.
Am I right or am I losing my Melonness?!!

Travis hasn't won me over yet!
I'm a long time Melonhead but haven't really wanted to listen to the new songs as demos and versions. I'm waiting to get my hands on the album (63 days!!). Saying that, I did download the Chicago show and, for me, the new songs don't stand out as much as the old stuff. There doesn't seem to be that elusive "something" with the new stuff. I do like Travis' voice though.

Nah, can't even get to Heathrow with my mortgage.
Lets hope they tour in the UK though, small venues! I still remember seeing them in the Mean Fiddler in Harlesden a couple of weeks before Shannon died. 300 people packed in, me in the front row.

Hi, a keen Melon fan from the UK here. Does anyone have any idea whether the new album (NEW ALBUM!!!) will be released in the UK? And is there a good place to getall the new songs that won't be on the album?
Thanks
