it was ironic that that person compared his voice to a cake because he sang a song named after a cake

I don't think the question is pointless. I remember when mp3.com was cool. You could search for bands that "sound like" other bands. I found a lot of really cool stuff there. I did a Melon search once. None of them really sounded like Melon...just a few similarities. There was one band that really stood out: Ten Pound Brown.. I highly doubt you'll find anything on them, since they have broken up. I managed to grab a few MP3s though. Amazing band. Here ya go...you'll hear the similiarties, trust me: Ten Pound Brown - One for the Load^Very "all over the place"... I think even Melon members would dig this...Excellent! Ten Pound Brown - Lamond^Acoustic tune... Awesome singer. Where do i go to listen? The links wont load *cries hysterically*

I didnt see anything like this here, and i hope its the right place to post this... I have always been a word person, which means I love the lyrics to songs... So the game is like alot of the other games we play on here like the trivia stuff. Someone posts a lyric and then whoever answers it correctly with the name of band and title of song gets to post the next lyric.......I will start with this "His job is to shed light, and not to master" oh yeah guess this "I knew you were mine for the taking, your eyes light up when I walk in the room. sweat it all out, sweat it all out, your bedroom eyes and your baby pouts, sweat it all out, In our electric storms and our shifting sands, our candy jars and our sticky hands, Don't forget what I wrote you then, and don't forget what I told you then, and don't forget I that meant to win, and don't forget your ventolin, so a hammering in my head don't stop, in the bullet train from Tokyo to Los Angeles."

I would like to see a Shannon movie! Ugh the movie industry keeps remaking all these lame movies when there are plenty of things out there that they could be making movies about! There was supposed to be a Freddie Mercury movie with the dictator guy playing him but I recently heard that fell apart. *cries*

I love silverchair, Daniel Johns is such a talent. Diorama hasn't left my car since I passed my test (in February). How can he get any better than that? Only their new album shall tell. Anyone else like them? Oh & anyone heard the Dissociatives? It's Daniel's side project since Diorama, they are so good, wierd, but good. I am a BIG Silverchair fan. I got Frogstomp, Freakshow, Neon Ballroom, Diorama, Young Modern, I also have his side projects "I can't believe its not rock" and The Dissociatives (did I spell that right)? I have numerous bonus tracks, some of my favorites being "English Garden" and "Arrest These Orchids" oh and don't forget about "Asylum". Daniel John is a friggen genius man. When I think back its amazing. I was in 8th grade when I got into them and Diorama had just came out. I had that. Then they didn't release another album until my graduation year, 2007. I find that amazing that two new albums came out at vastly different times in my life. Also did you know Ben Gillies has a side project called Bento? I didn't know he could sing. Daniel Johns is supposedly having a solo album coming out later this year. He already made a song with some Aussie rapper. I haven't listened to it yet, but I have seen pictures from the video. yes yes yes I am a biiiigggggg silverchair fan!!!!!

I pimped Marit Larsen out in the general discussion . Look her up. She's a great singer. Oh look. What a coincidence.

HI GUYS!!!! I am new to this forum.. Blind Melon have been such a big part of my life I love them with the passion of a thousand fires haha. They have been a huge inspiration to me as a musician and also in life, my own perception of there lyrics... lyrical brilliance. But Shannon's voice ...Oh my God, nothing can ever compare. I don't think I will ever hear another singer that can jump as far in to someones soul as him. The Raw expression of pure emotion and such a range.. The crackle is just the icing on the cake ... and that's some class A fucking icing man!
