Without question one of the best Travis era shows. I'm glad you got the tickets -hey, that's some "Almost Famous" level synergy.

While their stories are usually entertaining, groupies are not usually reliable sources of information.

See, here's the thing. We have not come across anyone who is right for the job, if we do then we might continue. It's really as simple as that.

Thanks to all who "tuned in" tonight (I am using old TV jargon because that's all I know). The show will be up on the drum channel's site next thursday and thereafter if you missed it or would like to see it again.
Thanks Again,
Glen

Ok, it goes like this... Yes we recorded many shows, at least 200, on DAT - that is , live to 2-track straight off the front of house console. I don't know who has those tapes but since they do exist it is not impossible that we could release some of them in one form or another at some point. Currently there are no plans to do so.
That's the word.

Ridiculous. Don't worry, we will let you know when there is something to know.

Everyone,
This band is a very casual affair. The recording (link in Meredith's 1st post of this thread) is just something we had lying around and I just slapped a second drum kit on it a couple of days ago (since we are a two drum set band). We just needed some kind of example of how we sound. That song is called Alpha Ray and is one of around 20 of Joe's songs we have arranged for two drummers.
JAKELEG: Mark Efland - Drums, congas Me - Drums (surprise!) Joe Tullos - Vocals, Guitar Greg Bell - Piano, Organ, Accordion, Vocals,etc.. (Greg was in Chapel Hill's infamous Chicken Wire Gang) Peter Holsapple - Bass, Vocals (He was in the DB's, The Continental Drifters, and has toured as a guitarist with everyone from R.E.M. to Hootie and the Blowfish)
We do not have a website, a Myspace page, a blog, a band photo or a CD (some of this will change in the coming months) and we are not the Jakeleg from Ohio- very casual. I wanted to let the hardest of the super hard-core Melonheads know about the show just in case they wanted to do something crazy like drive to Hillsborough, NC to check us out.
November 21st at the Blue Bayou (they are a little slow getting their calendar updated, but we should appear on it soon)
News Flash! - Blind Melon has not broken up - and we are still looking for a singer (Help!)

Greg and I are thinking about going if we can arrange a babysitter. Greg found the band member lineup after doing a google search...apparently it's from when they were looking for a bass player. Members Of Band: Joe Tullos-Vocals, Guitar Greg Bell-Keys Terry McIntyre-Guitar Mark Efland-Drums Glen Graham-Drums ...will be adding horns ____________________________________________________________ Hello Sonya, We would love to see you and Greg. Also, the line-up changed a little since that post. We fired Terry and now have Peter Hosapple (The DB's, The Continental Drifters, as well as a touring sideman for R.E.M., Hootie and the Blowfish among others) on Bass. Oh, and no horns at this show. Matt, The tempo for Galaxy was indeed fast during the Starkville show. I forgot to set the tempo (I00bpm) before counting off and the metronome was at it's default tempo of I20bpm, significantly faster than I00. I realized this during the count-off and it took a while but I managed to settle the tempo down to a still brisk clip. A rare occurrence, and a nightmare for about 20 seconds. We thought it was pretty funny. Another exciting anecdote from the topsy-turvy world of heavy rock... Glen

Yeah, it's my artwork. I drew it in the "Sleepy House" seated at this disk in my bedroom. Isn't that fascinating? There are 5 BM t-shirt designs in this photo...even more fascinating.

Just out of total curiosity, how did you guys hear Down on the Pharmacy. This song is unfinished. We need to know, and, buy the way, we are glad you like it.

Boys and Girls, We used to play Change live and transition directly into Dear Mr. Fantasy all the time, as a joke (at our expense) because they are so similar. I'm absolutely positive Shannon had not heard Dear Mr. Fantasy when he wrote Change, and was less than delighted when the song's similarities were pointed out to him. Both songs use chord structures commonly found in thousands of songs. Shannon did not listen to Traffic and was definitely not a fan. I was the hippie who introduced the band to Traffic, to my eternal dismay. Glen Graham
