I would like to formally apologize that I have not been on thr forum in quite sometime. I got fired up about the true cause of Shannon's death today and checked on here to find a lot of people had written me about the website and I of course did not reply in a timley fashion. I do vow that I will be on here more form tis point forward. I would also like to give out my facebook page as I use that to contact with most people in my life (saves on cell phone minutes)Just let me know that you're form the forum please. Now, correct me if im wrong, but wasn's Shannon found with just a small amount of cocaine in his sytem, that added with the fact that he was a hyperactive person his whole life, would appear that he most likely died from a heartattack and not just lump him in to being another 90s drug overdose victim? I'm looking for thoughts on this and will soon be writing an aritcle about it to post on shannonhoon.com or anywhere that would like to have it posted. Please keep me posted on any idea's or thoughts or requests for the site. It is for everyone to pay tribute to the man, so feel free to contact me anytime.. Thanks!-Randall Peenk facebook.com/peenk

I think Nel (I think it was Nel.) said it best. I don't have the book in hand for a direct quote but it was something like this: Shannon would do large amounts of coke, then abstain for awhile, then come back to large amounts. Other users that don't succumb to the addiction the way he did will do it more steadily. Doing smaller amounts for an extended period of time. This put a lot of strain on his heart more quickly. Eventually his heart just couldn't take it anymore. So, even if there were only a small amount in his system when he died, it was a heart attack as a result of his drug use.

Well Said Resiak. As Much as we all Love Shannon...it would be Very Hard to Deny That His Drug use Was a Major Factor in His Death. Even if he had been stone cold sober at the time, His drug use was a Factor. Just Look at The Changes he went through (Physically) from 92-95. Theres No Doubt That he wasnt leading a Healthy Lifestyle. Not Bashing Shannon at all. I Love and Respect Shannon as Much as anyone, But Facts are Facts. I Have been off the hard Stuff Foir six Years Now. But, If I die unexpectedly tomorrow...You can bet that my previous Lifestyle played a role.

I am glad I found this website, and this post in this forum,as I have been a little confused myself about Shannon's death,as I have read in various places on the internet that he died from a cocaine overdose. But then again,I have also read about a speedball being involved too?? Having been only 8 yrs old at the time of Shannon's death, I am having a bit of trouble sorting fact from fiction. Thanks in advance if anyone can clarify.
